Great Wall Chinese - Cadillac

This restaurant is exactly what it aims to be: an affordable breakfast buffet that serves Chinese cuisine. While they faced some quality issues in the past, they have made significant improvements over the last year. I frequently go there with my son, and it has become our go-to Chinese restaurant in Cadillac. Although the building is older, it is well-maintained and clean. Many of the negative reviews seem to come from people who lack an understanding of the food service industry or who have unrealistic expectations. If you're expecting a five-star dining experience for bargain prices, this might not be the place for you. However, compared to other Chinese buffets in the area, you definitely get your money's worth here.

The variety of options was impressive! The food was tasty, but it could have been served at a hotter temperature.

We really enjoy Big Wall, but there's definitely some room for improvement. The restaurant cleanliness could be better. They tend to boil the mushrooms and broccoli, then mix the fresh ingredients with what's been left over, so if you dig through the dish, you might find items that have been sitting in the warmer and are softer or overcooked. The food quality seems to vary depending on who is cooking, which can lead to inconsistent experiences. For instance, on a recent visit, the sour soup tasted overwhelmingly smoky, as if a whole bottle of liquid smoke had been added, even though it’s usually quite good and has a consistent flavor. On a positive note, the staff are always friendly and great with our children, which is important to us. We prefer the food here over other places, so we plan to keep coming back, but we hope to see some improvements made.

I tried the other two Chinese restaurants in Cadillac, and this is definitely my favorite. I was ready in 5 minutes and everything was delicious. I'll be back!
