Y Sushi Restaurant - Burnaby

I was looking for a restaurant near this area and found this restaurant. Some of the reviews weren't great but some were really good! So my friend and I decided to try it since we were looking for a cheap and easy food.Sushi was absolutely delightful! They had nice good selection of sushi and it was really reasonable too.I have ordered House Combo which comes with 2 pieces of salmon and tuna sashimi each, 8 pieces of California rolls, and Ebi, tuna and Salmon nigiri.Also, I have ordered Salmon Battera sushi. It melted in my mouth! Yummy! I love Aburi sushi, one of my favorite!I would definitely go back to that restaurant.

I don't know why there were so many negative reviews about not fresh etc. my review is for the 30th april 2022 and the experience was about to skip the dishes: restaurant courier speed: 5 /5 (was ready 9 minutes earlier than expected, the...courier came 6 minutes faster than projected) I ordered during the dinner rush 6 pm and had my dinner in under 35 minutes. quality freshness: 5 /5 (the thing that made this experience so perfect was the clear covers for the moving boxes. it looked so amazing and welcoming. to be able to see your eating so as to take it out. They are usually in polyfoam tablets that are environmentally friendly and not so beautiful to see. but clear lid? food comes with high quality soy sauce in small keepers. not the cheap salty. this is the good witness! and also very generous Wasabi parts. and the ingwer (also I don't eat any ingwer,) but the ingwer was huge. twice the size of my wasabi and that was at least 1 bwn tbsp size blob! delicious price: 6 /5 (I really feel that they could offer much more perfect when they eat this level of freshness. my only complaint was (1) it did not come with any chiffels or serviettes (thanks I have some here) and (2) the soy sauce at the passage (ski the dishes) and the gyoza was full saturated on the floors with. so half soggy. but they were well slept fried so that the spill did not happen that this would have been perfectly crispy. the Sashimi slices were massive “2-bites MINIMUM” (3/4” thick and about 4”x2”. (mother) very fresh and sweet. for the first time gyoza deep roasted. soou well they had a nice promo on jump where to spend $35 free California reels (which plus my american express cobalt offers spend $40 $20 back in credit) so this amazing $40 dinner with free California reels, and my gyoza, spicy roll and sashimi all came to $20. $26 if they count the shipping costs and control. not bad. based on my experience after eating. I feel the price was clearly below. the meal was definitely worth at least $50-55! it was very high quality and fresh. that is probably the most important thing about sushi places. fresh. especially when we have to do it with raw seafood. I will go out and try them personally and deep fried gyoza is on my list!

I was in on June 27 to pick up my order and waited over 40 minutes before leaving. There were two Fraser Health Restaurant Inspectors in the restaurant at the time and they were having a hard time getting order outs. So after leaving and...eating somewhere else I thought I would go online to see what the inspection report was. There were several issues which they have since resolved but then a couple on a follow up visit on July 19th they have not which is a concern. Still have not found a way to control their mice infestation so not spending the money on pest control services as directed in June visit. Using sticky traps instead where a mouse was found as well a mice dropping on kitchen floor! Until they take this serious and pay for proper pest control I will not be back.

Great new(ish) modern place with good quality sushi. I usually take out and orders are ready fast, but also a nice section to eat in as well. Never too busy, orders come quickly. Sushi is good quality, they do a few special rolls that are...kind of expensive and not really worth it, but the usual basic rolls are quite fresh and the rolls don't fall apart, which is always nice. A good deal.
