Turtledoves Bakery - Burlington

I wanted to love this local bakery, but found it was a let down. I bought 2 chicken pies for my son and I. They were reasonably priced $7.50 each), but came with no cooking instructions. I placed them in the oven 400 for 30 mins which did the trick. They cooked up nicely but tasted so incredibly bland. I had to add a ton of salt to make them taste like something. I didn't get any sweets maybe they're more known for those. Based on what I bought, I don't think I'll be coming back.

My mother, sister and I went to this bakery after visiting the shop next door. I purchased two Nanaimo bars, my mom a meat pie, and small pie, my sister brownies. We all commented after our eating the items that they were all the worst tasting items we had from a bakery. I don’t recommend. Very disappointed.

Great tasting 100% gluten free bakery, serving staple breads, buns, baguettes, and delicious baked goods/ pastries, cakes, cupcakes, muffins. They even have soups, Jamaican patties, sausage rolls for a quick lunch.

The best gluten free bakery I’ve found.I was quite a baked goods lover before going gluten free against my will.I’ve been underwhelmed over and over at other gluten free bakeries.Turtle doves is the best, no disappointment.Personal favourites I’ve found so far.Almond butter cookies… so good, I can’t even describe them but no way could a gluten cookie beat these. They are magic.Also their cheese onion buns, how do they get that soft airy texture? It’s amazing. Almost like French bread texture but better like a croissant and French bread had a baby and well somehow cheese and onion got mixed in and YUM!Can’t wait to catch them on a Friday to try a donut . It’s been a year since I had a donut my once favourite treat and I’m convinced these people can pull that off.Thanks to the wonderful folks at Turtle Doves! I just ate 3 Almond butter cookies and had to hide the rest. ?

I have ALWAYS LOVED THE FOOD HERE. it's the BEST GF food in Ontario as far as I know. I live in Toronto and nothing compares to this food. I am always treated very well here too which contributes to my high rating of this place. I hope they can always be in business. The variety, mouthfeel of the food, flavour, texture it's exceptional. There is no other place like Turtledoves. From a 20 year celiac client.
