Lowville Bistro - Burlington

On a Sunday drive stopped for some ice cream. We ate on the patio a year ago and liked the setting and the food so were VERY DISAPPOINTED with the little ice cream counter.Walked in and nobody serving.....about three or four wait staff in the kitchen and serving the patio saw us and neither acknowledged us nor called anybody to serve us.After an unsatisfactory long time, with more customers coming in behind us, I had to walk through the kitchen and into the restaurant to ask a group of three people standing around if there was anybody working in the ice cream counter.Somebody finally showed up with a "sorry" and blathered on about "going on an early lunch" and "a new chef" which was all rather confusing and irrelevant.When we had a pathetically small "one scoop" ice cream on a stale waffle cone it was $4.00.Obviously taking advantage of the parents with kids who come over from the conservation area......this is SAD!!!!!!I hope their BISTRO hasn't fallen in quality like the ice cream counter has!

Wow first time to this restaurant, what a wonderful place in a quiet little town to sit outside on their patio and sip a glass of wine. I had a soup and sandwich best sandwich I ever had. Cauliflower soup yum. We will be back again for SURE, maybe in the fall and winter to try out the inside somewhere near there cozy fireplace i seen.

Heard so much great things about his restaurant and hadn't been for years so went back with family and we were so disappointed. The food was not at all what we would have expected. Ordered the Braised Beef Ravioli and it arrived in bowl of congealed liquid with fat solidified on the top. Pasta for kids was not edible. Music was blaring on the patio and we had to ask to have it turned down twice. It is such a great location near the park - just did not in anyway live up to its reputation. Perhaps it was a bad day.

This was my second visit to this great restaurant. Sat outside on the patio and had a wonderful meal. Though the service was very good, I found that one of the ladies who served us was inappropriately dressed for this type of restaurant. It was more for a pub style restaurant. Wearing skin tight leggings that were see through was out of place.As for the food, the soup was on the cold side though should have been hot and the hamburger, though delicious, is quite a HUGE mouthful so you will need to use a knife and fork.

After making a reservation 2 weeks in advance our party arrive to be told there was no table for us. We chose to eat outside..had to share the 1 menu they gave us for 4 people. Waited excessive amount of time for our food and I mean excessive and we were only brought the usual bread basket after we had to ask for it. I ordered a Caesar salad with a chicken breast and was served a salad with a "Breton" cracker broken on the top of it instead of croutons. Not good. If they were out of croutons, they should have just told me and I would have been much more understanding. I am not sure I will go back...too bad.
