Bidrage med feedbackIt is difficult to find good Japanese food in Burlington or for that matter the whole GTA. Normally we order from Sushi Masayuki or Doma Sushi in Burlington but on February 13, 2021 they were both very busy and it would have been a long wait. Based on good reviews on Google (mistake) I ordered three special rolls which I use as a benchmark when ordering special rolls plus one special of the house. Let me start with the good; the staff were very friendly and the order was on time. Price was on the lower end for special rolls and I guess you get what you pay for. Now the bad; all four rolls lacked flavour. The sauce used to top the rolls was all the same and sweet but nothing else (more of a Korean item than Japanese). The Dynamite Roll was just bland period. The Black Dragon Roll was also very bland (Unagi was good) and all you could taste was the Unagi. We tried the Spider Roll and it tasted off so we ended up just throwing it out after trying a few pieces (which we spat out). It was fishy and anyone who knows sushi also knows you don't use old fish. It was the tuna, not sure why but it tasted like tuna from a can, had a metallic taste and was not edible. I am going to assume they used the belly meat from the fish (it was dark grey) and not canned but not sure. The main ingredient in a Spider Roll is soft shell crab and it was not there at all. No crunch, no crab! For the fourth roll, the house special roll I ordered the Fantastic Roll, which tasted better than the Spider Roll but the tuna was off again and we found no crab. On top of this none of the sushi rolls had any Tobiko (fish eggs) which give that small crunch and look like red specks. At no point did the restaurant say they lacked items to make the rolls. I can't believe there are people who rave about this restaurant; either they don't know what real Japanese/Korean sushi tastes like or they like it because it's cheaper. We ordered take-out due to COVID closures but you could not pay me to try this place again.
Our first time in this restaurant was about two months before we were asked to isolate. Dinner was perfect! Plate presentation was great and the food was right to the point. Since then we returned for a second and third time. Service and food only gets better! Everything tastes fresh and well cooked. The owners are very nice and the restaurant is immaculate. This is the place to find yourself eating. If you have a chance, you can stop by and grab dinner since they are open during this time for take out.
I ate here solo and wanted a Sashimi lunch. I got a soup which tasted old and extremely salty. The Benb box had salad with a tomato covered in heavy gross dressing and the tomato seemed old and withered. The Salmon on the plate was cut so large that I had to cut it with my teeth to put it into my mouth. Obviously no knife with only chop sticks. The other types of fish were cut appropriately but nothing impressed me and it didn’t seem fresh to me. Wouldn’t go back to this restaurant again. Service was quick and restaurant was empty...makes you wonder why!
Super excellent customer service !Sushi rolls were super tasty, big portions and reasonable prices. Cozy and nice atmosphere. Spicy Tuna Roll and Dinamite Roll were superb ... I will definitely come back.!
This place hasn't changed in years! I recently went back with a friend and we enjoyed the same tasty sushi rolls, the same atmosphere and the same friendly staff as before. The food tastes very fresh, with hot items coming out piping hot. I loved the tempura onions and pumpkin.
