The food at this restaurant was delicious and the portion sizes were generous. Although I had a not so great customer service experience, I'm grateful that the owner, Nancy, reached out to me personally to ensure a better experience on my next visit.

Negative 5 Stars would be the best rating to give this place if the option was available. BEWARE!!!

On the day of the event, my bridesmaids arrived at 12 PM to set up, but nothing was ready. They were met with rude staff and some were even refused access to the building. Nancy was overheard talking negatively about me and my event in front of my guests. When it came to the food, items were missing from the contract and some guests did not receive any food at all, with the explanation that the kitchen was closed due to supporting the two events at Soul Anchor. Nancy never showed up at my shower to apologize or fulfill her promise of compensation. I had to speak with her husband after the event to get a half-hearted response, and it took multiple attempts to get my money back. I found Nancy to be unprofessional, lacking integrity, and a poor representation of a black-owned business. It seemed like she was taking on more than she could handle with running a restaurant, catering, and event planning without the proper staffing or training. I would not recommend booking with Nancy unless you are prepared for potential conflicts. Stay safe.

I've never been so confused by a restaurant.Let's start by saying the food is incredible! Came out fresh and very hot! Only food complaint was I asked for dark meat and my partner asked for white meat, yet we both got 2 thighs and a leg. Beyond that the food was excellent and I highly recommend it.The atmosphere however was terrible. Ive never eaten at a table set woth a table cloth but all plastic, cutlery, cups, and servingwear. Either youbare an upscale restaurant that should have table cloths and china or you are place that uses plasticwear. You cannot be both! The dinning room is sloppily painted a dated shade of pink, and gives off major vibes of being a former chinease restaurant. There is a huge, long abandoned buffet takeing up one entire wall that just seems to be used only for displaying photos and newspaper articles. We visited in late July and there were still christmas decorations up. All in all decor and atmosphere were very lacking.I leave this review in the hopes that the owners will see the place from an outsiders perspective. The food is amazing and deserves a space just as incredible. A space that invites people back. The potential for a fantastic place is here.

Do Not I repeat Do Not use Ms Nancy catering service/hall. My cousins wedding was Sept 24 2023. She did not provide a desert table that was paid for. Told us a pipe bust in the restaurant so everything had to be done in hall. Promised the couple appetizers and dinner to take home. Then said there was no food left. Even though they pd for 100 people. Less than 80 guests. Not enough table and chairs. Also ran out of salmon. Selected table service ended and in buffet line. Had the audacity of ask them to donate liquor at the end of the evening. In her mind she doesn't feel like she provided inadequate service. Ms Nancy also doesn't feel like she should refund some of the money. The only positive thing I will say is the decorations were lovely. Beware of the horrible woman who lies anytime she opens her mouth. All skin folk ain't kin folk.
