Don't let the name fool you - this restaurant is anything but bad. Unlike many others that try to be pretentious and end up turning away potential customers, this place is worth a try!

During my travels, I have noticed that there are four essential factors for a great night out: the quality of food, food costs, standard of service, and the ambiance of the restaurant. If you are on the Gold Coast for a vacation, Nobby's Beach Surf Club is a place that meets all these requirements. Although some may think of it as just a surf club, the meals served here exceed expectations. Especially for lunch, the dining area offers a breathtaking view of the sea and beach. The Thai king prawns are particularly delicious. The prices are reasonable, with main meals for two costing around $45. Kids have a separate menu, and the service, while not silver service, is friendly and efficient. The dress code is optional, and the prices for drinks are very affordable. Overall, Nobby's is a great choice for families or groups of adults dining out on the Gold Coast. From my many travels I have noted the fact that when dining out there are about 4 essentials for a night out .Quality of food.. Cost of food..Standard of service and nearly most important the ambience of the restaurant. If you are holidaying on the Gold Coast then one place will fill these requirements. The Nobby's Beach Surf Club,whilst a lot will say"A surf club no way" but believe me in this case you will find a meal at this establishment will meet all the above requirements. Particularly for a midday meal you will find that sitting in the dining section you will experience breathtaking views of the ocean and the vast stretches of the beach at Mermaid. Overall the food id excellent,try the Thai King Prawns It is superb.The cost factor of the meals is most reasonable,kids have their own menu,as dinner for two ,main meal only about $45.00. Whilst the service is nmot siver service the staff are most courteous and certainly efficient. Dress is optional and another factor that is important for drinkers is the price of liquor,very cheap. All in all for the family or for a group of adults Nobbys should be on youit restaurant list. I am not a apiad food critic just a traveller who like to pass on good information Oneeye Queensland
