It worth it. Nice homemade food and good service. We went for lunch and we couldn’t move after... we were full. We had “Ensalada de pimientos con Codorniz en Escabeche”, “Solomillos de Cerdo con cebolla caramelizada y queso” and “Rabo de toro” amazing. 2 Ciders, 3 dishes, 1 bottle of wine and 2 coffees 67€. Is not the cheapest places, but it worth it. I’m sure I’ll back.

I was recommended this restaurant by my Spanish friends and since my wife really wanted to visit the Castle in the area, we decided to hop on over. A bit of backstory: I enjoy reading reviews from other people wherever I go, most of them are useful, others are funny and the rest is a mix of confusion, sadness and embarrassment for other people. I really enjoy that owners are given the opportunity to ' 'defend their honor ' ' against 'fake ', unfair and 'controversial reviews '. Makes for great comical relief. After reading my fair share of reviews from the restaurant, I realized the owner has a big ego, bigger mouth and is an amazing keyboard warrior. Can 't lie about the ambient, it 's very cozy and family-like, what 'd you expect from a townie restaurant. The table cloth did look older than my grandma 's socks, God bless her soul. We sat down, asked for a bottle of the house wine. The label was cute and mildly funny. The taste ? Not so much, but can 't complain for 10€. Food was mediocre at best, not going to lie here. Do let the looks of the food fool you. It 's not as good as it looks and most of what looks awful, is awful. The only salvageable dish was the tuna-pepper salad, nice for the palate. Wife had the quail salad, chewy in her opinion. I had the sirloin steak with mushy fries and weird sauce (impossible to mess up a steak and fries, but you 'd be surprised), my wife had the codfish. She says it was ok, if not too much garlic but that 's personal opinion. I had to reread the menu, they serve canned apricot as a dessert. The apple pie was meh, to say the least. Come if you want to be surprise at how mediocre the food is and at the comical relief of the attempt at being ' 'good ' '.

Travelling from Santander we stayed locally for the night and were delighted to find this gem! The welcome was fabulous and there was a very short wait before we ordered and were served. The food was delicious especially the bean, artichoke and pork stew. The Ribera de Duero wine was perfect for the dish. Other dishes included a Sweet pepper and Quail salad and an apple sweet. We will return!

The standard daily menu for 10€ includes a few starters, main courses and desserts to choose from as well as the drinks (wine, beer or water). Lunch starts at 1:30 PM. I had Pisto which is a kind of scrambled eggs with zucchini, tomato and some other vegetable as a starter and cooked pork as a main course. Both were delicious. The waitress was very efficient and after only half an hour I was already having my coffee. The restaurant is easy to find, near the main through road and opposite the main bus stop, so you can 't miss it.
