Bidrage med feedbackA very pleasant surprise! we ate a lunch, the restaurant was almost empty, but it didn t bother us. We ate fish and octopus ; the waiter was great; actually he told us we ordered too much ) he was wright , of course; but...because the food was soooooo gooooood we resisted heroically by the way, the sides are large If you want a delicious food, don t miss it!
Dinner starts off with a cold glass of Sherry while viewing the menu. They also have a English menu upon request. The side dishes are very large. The wait staff attentive and friendly. Worth a visit.
This is a very authentic favourite for locals to come with their families. The large room crammed with large tables is very simple, rustic and dated (even worn and featuring stained linens just to make it feel real)! The portions are sized to share with...a large group so you can have several courses. For a couple this means you face a huge platter of one or two maximum items so hopefully you like it. We ordered a seafood paella which looked more like a stew (still lots of liquid vs the type you find in Spain with all the baked crunchy bits). The salad is good if somewhat simple greens that you dress yourself with oil and vinegar. The waiters are hustling fast to keep the nonnas happy. So go and enjoy, but set your expectations that this is not a foodie experience!
Went for a meal last night, were given a complimentary sherry to start, nice touch. Then asked for one of the spanish speciality stews was told no we couldn't have that, so changed asked for muscles was told no we couldn't have...that, then tried to order a steak was told no...at this point although we had our wine we thought we could ask for the bill go somewhere else. This was a Friday night in Buenos Aires!!!! A second waiter came over and then said we could have steak...so we thought we would try again for the spanish stew or muscles, but no we were turned down again for these dishes. After finally ordering the steak we were understandably just a bit disappointed at this stage. We couldn't believe that for a large restaurant (approx covers) and only people in, why had they run out of food? The steak and the second meal of grilled chicken arrived and they were both cooked perfectly, which was a pleasant surprise. After having so much trouble ordering the main course we didn't want to try for a desert so finished off our wine asked for the bill. We were then given another complimentary drink of limoncello, again another nice touch or so we thought! We both had one sip of the limoncello and quickly put the glass down pulling many funny faces as the drink didn't taste like any other limoncello we had ever had before. In fact it just tasted of lemon fairy liquid!!!!! Sadly we had to leave the rest of the limoncello as it really was very unpleasant, so we paid the bill left. I think perhaps this was once a very good popular restaurant but it seems to have seen better days!
Worst spanish food ever. Paella with seashell bits or dirt, dry bread, basic wine. Terribly overpriced for what you are getting.
