Bidrage med feedbackThis popular Buenos Aires tradition has recently moved from San Telmo to Palermo and is a great addition to the neighbourhood. Specializing in pork entrees and appetisers it has a small but interesting menu. The specialty is pork on a bun accompanied by pickles and vegetables. The staff are very friendly, helpful and some speak English. At the entrance reception you place your order and then your name is called when the food is ready. This is perfect for a light dinner, drinks and snacks or simply an informal meal. The food is prepared rapidly and the atmosphere is relaxed. There is an open-air courtyard at the rear and only a few tables for sit down dining. The prices are very reasonable and the portions are generous. Highly recommended for a unique experience.
We'd called ahead to make sure they were open, and the chef opened the door for us when we arrived and took our order. Small menu, but fantastic. We all decided the cornbread was some of the best we'd ever had, and my pork belly sandwich with peanut butter (sounds weird, I know!) was to die for. Everyone else had the pulled pork sandwich and loved it as well. Wine list was short but had interesting choices. We seriously considered returning again during our week long trip. Came here after reading a well deserved recommendation in Travel and Leisure. It was slightly off the beaten path - ten minutes walking from Plaza de Mayo. On a weekday, I imagine it would be full of government employees, but on a Saturday at 1:30pm the neighborhood was empty.
This restaurant atracted us from its doorstep. It is incredibly charming but still has a cozy atmosphere! We ordered a sandwich and pork ribs and the flavour and texture of both was amazing. The fruit dessert was also delicious.We were also very well recepted and served!!! 100% recommended!
We had a nice lunch here. It's not the cheapest option, and service was slow. But the food was yummy.
There, I said it: in San Telmo, the land of parrillas, the title of best restaurant is Chochan. While the hordes of tourists crowd places La Brigada and Parrilla del Plata, Chochan is a place for the locals to go enjoy delicious porky delights. This place has it all: innovative and flavorful cuisine, excellent customer service (hard to come by in Buenos Aires!), wonderful wine pairings and a pleasant ambiance. This is our local go-to place when we get bored with the bland "food" offerings of the city and get a craving for --plainly stated-- flavor. If you go through my past reviews, you'll know that I don't recommend many places, but I highly recommend this one.
