Bidrage med feedbackExcellent Southern cuisine! I especially enjoyed the Friday buffet that featured fried catfish and collard greens. The coconut cake is wonderful for desert. I can't say enough good things about the wait staff and the patrons who go here.Food: 5/5
You will find no better southern buffet dining, for miles, to top this quality atmosphere, for a reasonable price. Servers Carol Kaitlyn provide superb, personal, friendly service. Clay Snider, owner, oversees every detail. My husband I, have dined every Friday, for a few months, now, unable to resist the fried catfish. You will not be disappointed!
I had a delightful first visit here for a book launch of a favorite author of mine that The Town House was hosting. I arrived early in time for their Sunday Lunch buffet, and it was delicious! Not only do they serve great food, but they also have beautiful rooms available upstairs as well as in a guest house. I plan on checking that out on my next visit here.
This is now the townhouse and is under new management. We ate the Sunday buffet after church. The food was delicious and hot. The place is very clean and the atmosphere is excellent. The staff was very nice and attentive. The price is reasonable. You should definitely give it a try anytime you are in the area ?
Starting with our room: Upon checking into the Guesthouse, we had to walk through a corridor that was being painted. The paint fumes were so strong that I requested a room change. Thankfully, they accommodated me, but the owner admitted that if he had checked the reservations, he wouldn't have scheduled any painting at that time. Additionally, when I pulled out the sofa bed, I discovered quite a bit of trash underneath. Now regarding the restaurant: When I checked in, I specifically asked if I needed reservations for dinner, and I was told that it wasn't necessary since it was a slow night. However, I noticed the restaurant hours posted on the door indicated they were open from 5 to 9. When we arrived at 8:20, I was informed that the kitchen had already closed. When I pointed out the hours on the door, the response was that those were just the restaurant hours, but the kitchen closed at 8. I then asked the receptionist to call the owner, but to no avail. I reminded her that I was a guest at the hotel and that I had mentioned wanting to dine in the restaurant during check-in. This led to a shout match, and ultimately, we were turned away. Here are a few ways I think they could have handled things more effectively: 1. They could have made it clear when I inquired about dinner that the kitchen closed at 8 PM. 2. When we didn't show up, someone could have thought, "Hey, that older couple in the Guesthouse expressed interest in dining. Should I check on them?" 3. Upon our late arrival at 8:20, instead of ignoring our misunderstanding, they could have apologetically offered, "Sorry for the miscommunication. We’ll quickly grill a couple of steaks and prepare a small salad for you to eat in your room." Instead, we were met with condescension. By the way, we ended up having dinner at Los Aztecas Restaurant. We arrived at 8:50 (they were closing at 9), and they couldn't have been more welcoming! We were the only patrons there, but they served us graciously, the food was excellent, and I left a generous tip. In summary: I expect a certain level of graciousness and an emphasis on guest satisfaction at any hotel I visit. The lack of attention to details like checking for painting, inadequate cleaning, and poor treatment at the restaurant made it very difficult for me to recommend this hotel.
