Bidrage med feedbackI had a nice lunch with my sister and my brother in the law when I went to Bucharest to visit my family. Eat really good, big part.
Located in a historical building which was made according to the plans designed by the Austrian architect Anton Shuckerl in 1894, this location takes you back to the 1900 when going to a restaurant was a culinary experience and at the same time a way to socialize. Clean, great service, average prices, even with a designated smoking area this is a place you must visit when you are in town. For meat lovers I will recommend the Costelaria plate for 2.
Good food, ribs was tasty and plentiful and so was the cold meats starter platter. Service was ok but slow for my liking and they only seemed to have one person helping.
This place has the most amazing steak in town. Well grilled meat and very good potatoes chips. They serve the dish with a delicious garlic souce and red onion. Highly recommended.
I usually go here because it's the only place I found so far in Bucharest to serve fresh ribs on the grill, not oven baked or smoked. It's a matter of taste as one might like more the other types, in that case this wouldn't be the choice for them.I find the ribs to be very tasty each time I go there (every 1-2 months), although sometimes they are a bit burnt on the edges. Potatoes are a plus as being freshly cut, not the tasteless bagged frozen ones you buy from supermarket. I have once tasted the trout, unfortunately way overcooked, as a consequence I've never tried anything else from the menu but the ribs.Restaurant is a bit unclean (the wooden tables sometimes sticky) and unattractive, but on the good side there's the fast service and low prices.
