Bidrage med feedbackPingsdorf? A village in the southern Rhine brown coal area, today belongs to Brühl, and in the western adjacent recultivated former brown coal mining area abundantly blessed with lakes. Nine of these lakes have just arrived and with us three Munter Junior reindeer couples report a little. A well-maintained, whitewashed, two-storey, street-like building on the L 194, where once an imperial post office was accommodated, and today under the name Hotel Restaurant Jägerhof overnight stays and food and drink are offered. The ambience and the building well maintained impresses outside, so well maintained it also works inside. The establishment in the guest room, which is first entered, is rustic. The decoration, here a deck deck, there a deck deck, is intended to convey the local atmosphere of the grandma. The following guest room, which is distributed over the garden with curtains and is equipped with professional covered tables and an antique dark brown buffet, brings the guest back to the time of the imperial post stations in the Belle Époque. Here – decorated by a large doll and guarded by a filled master clean corner – we find six showers, led by a friendly young lady, our place on a large table for eight people. The service Speaking of friendly young lady: she has learned her craftsmanship. It serves us all night, friendly, fast and practicing and makes us aware that a rich excavator in the neighborhood has sometimes made communication with plastic money lenders impossible – a very useful hint, so there are no surprises in payment. The fast served hiking beer and water from the Eifel, but also the attractive Campari Orange (5th €) make the choice from the clear yet matching menu pleasant. Fish and meat are well represented, purely vegetarian main dishes miss the fish and meat avoidances. We choose: – 2x Rumpsteak with herbal butter and land potatoes, Vulgo and new German “Wedges” or “fried potato flakes”, and salad plate (each 18,10 €, – 2 x medallions from pork fillet in bacon, emperor screws, plums and rosemary spices (each 16,90 €, – medallions from pork meat On a special request of one of our hiking sisters, they are also exchanged for mushrooms in a hospitable manner. As a greeting from the kitchen follows “only” white bread with pepper fresh cheese. But the white bread is so fresh, warm and tasty and the cheese is so spicy that the impression of unfortunately usual but inconspicuous taste of the palate does not remain. The two salad plates to the Rumpsteaks taste excellent. A delicious vinaigrette gives the crunchy fresh iceberg, leaf, cucumbers and pepper salad mixture the right taste. Both Rumpsteaks are pink fried, as medium as ordered, tender, but unfortunately no longer as hot as they should be. It is obvious that the herbal butter, which hesitantly melts. Probably the steaks in the kitchen have to wait for the other dishes. The only point of criticism in this dish, because the peasant potatoes are crispy, nicely tanned and very tasty seasoned. Also the medallions are very well prepared, still beautiful pink and sweet in taste. Also here, with the additions: freshly prepared – also the exchanged peppers and mushrooms – nothing from the canned and everything delicious. The fried salmon fillet with butter potatoes and a large, beautifully spicy part spinach gives our wandering friend the note "1A". The whale ice cream with warm Schokosauce and whipped cream (5,10 €) and the hot apple strudel on vanilla sauce with whipped cream and a ball vanilla ice cream (4,90 €) are very pleased with our table-affin hiking friends. Cleanliness In addition to the locality is both outside and inside, it is also clean inside — in the guest room and also where the emperor must go: nothing to migrate! Price and performance are balanced. For our money we were served very well and have eaten well. The conclusion (4.2 stars overall a successful walking finish with dishes and an ambience that leaves behind the average of the village restorations. The service deserves its five stars, the ambience, the value for money and cleanliness of the four stars. The dishes would have crossed the four star border if not the only warm but not hot steaks were there. That’s why four stars are decorated and “only” in total. The Jägerhof deserves four stars and is worth a recommendation.
