El Charrito - Brownsville

Marlen was an Excellent and Friendly Waiteres! The Enchilada Plates, both with Cheese or Chicken, were Fantastic and Tasty! Service was Exceptional!

Overall experience was good. Hadn?t been here in a long time. The Carne Guisada was good but wasn?t as warm as I?d like by the time it made it to our table. Adding Natural Lemonade to the selection of drinks would also be a great plus. I?ll be back.

The service was excellent, and the restrooms were very clean. While the food was decent, it could use less garlic, as it overpowers the flavors. The salad was good. I ordered the charrito plate, and the chile relleno with cheese was hot and tasty. However, the American enchiladas had too much garlic and appeared hastily prepared with sauce just thrown on top; they didn’t taste good at all. The tostada was fine. I suspect that because we arrived 20 minutes before closing, the kitchen didn’t prioritize the quality of the food.

The food was decent, and the staff was very attentive. However, the prices were a bit steep. We ended up spending over $28 for two breakfasts, which feels high for our area. Just yesterday, we paid only $12 at another restaurant.

Food-wise, it's a typical Mexican restaurant that's recently been remodeled and is very clean.
