Bidrage med feedbackThe food and ambiance are five star quality without a doubt! The best biscuits and gravy I have had north of the mason Dixon line to date actually! And the drinks were absolutely phenomenal and very well balanced. It's a very cute brunch date spot ... as long as you aren't in any rush. The service here, despite being completely empty when we arrived, was extremely lackluster and at best subpar. Not the most accommodating or engaging staff and very difficult to get assistance when needed. If the service were on par with the atmosphere and the food quality, this place would be 5 stars! Unfortunately it's Manhattan quality service in a Brooklyn neighborhood. I'd still come back, but only if I have a lot of time to burn.
We went to this eatery after the place that we really wanted to eat at had no tables available. The place was very busy which to us was a good sense. Some people we dinning outside and indoor dinning was packed. We were asked for our prefer and elected to sit indoors. We were told the wait would be 10-15 minutes so we were off to a great start when five minutes later we were ushered to a table. Once seated in a cozy corner we waited and waited to place an order for beverages. We waited over 15 minutes. The music was extremely loud but we were not deterred. When we finally placed our order we were told that they were out of French toast... I asked for my tea with lemon, I got none. The mugs are rather small so a teabag in such a small cup results in a tea that 's extremely strong. I would have appreciated the bag on the side so that I could determine how long to leave it to steep. After waiting for over 30 minutes from placing our order and watching four other tables who ordered AFTER us eating we asked about our order. It was clear that our order somehow was lost and no apology was offered. Once I got the shrimp with grits I bit into one of the shrimps and my teeth were met with a shell.... No one inquired about whether we enjoyed the food....it felt like eating at a fast food chain. I also witnessed another dinner request another table and was told no. The dinner pointed out that the table was wobbling and the server said she would bring something to stabilize the table. She never did. The dinners were forced to ask someone else for another table. While they were moved another couple was seated at the table without the rocking table being stabilized.
Get here at a good time before noon and you should be ok otherwise you'll probably be waiting. Luckily I got here with a group when they opened and got seated right away. The crowd picks up pretty fast and the space can get pretty cramped. When it rains, it pours and the people sitting outside will most likely get re-allocated inside making more people squeeze together...something that is still kinda gray during the COVID era. Regardless the food is solid. Their options are delicious and the eggs Benedict was a perfect way to start a Sunday. If you want to go for more of a lunch vibe, then their burger, along with their impossible burger is a sure way to get that craving satisfied without feeling you just ate a ton of grease.

The food and service used to be really good and that was why my friend and I would come here every weekend despite the 30 minutes drive. The wait staff remembered us and he would always greet us with a big smile. We love him!!! However, I don't know since when they just went downhill fast, especially customer service. The dark skin lady waitress (I believe her name is Dani D. please let me know if you caught her smile because it is rare. She never smile to greet you and always make us feel like she does not even want to be there or serve us. Plus, she might get a fish brain. We asked her for a water or new set of utensil, she can forget like right after. (Note: the restaurant was not busy! Only 3 tables of customers . We gave her a lot of chances by keep coming every week because we have her benefit of the doubt every time like maybe she is having a bad day, or she will improve next time. But no, we kept coming for a year straight every other week, and she is just like that. She will forget one thing or two. The food is alright. The French toast used to be cereal crusted, but I think the chef left or something. There is no more cereal crusted and turned to be a normal French toast, and sometimes the toast is not even toasted. After being 4 years of loyal eater at sunshine, I will not come back no more. Chances were given and they did not come back to par. I'm sorry!
