Pedro's Bar - Brooklyn

The food here is SO good. I highly recommend the pork chimichanga, and definitely an order of chips and salsa. The margaritas are super strong though, so order with caution (two may have been a bit too many) service can be a little confusing. One time I went and they seated us, and other time is was seat yourself. There's also two separate menus, which was quite confusing the first time I went. Overall though, very good food and a great place to bond over a (strong) drink.

I had a disappointing experience at this place. The food and drinks were just okay, but the service was the main issue. There was some confusion when I arrived, as the bartender initially suggested a seating area, but then a waitress directed me elsewhere. The restaurant seemed understaffed, with only one waitress serving both inside and outside.I ordered a chicken fajita and a spicy drink. The food was average, and the drink was adequately spicy but lacked any outstanding flavor. When I finished eating, I requested the bill and briefly went to the bathroom. Upon returning, I noticed my drink was gone, but the waitress ignored me when I tried to get her attention. I decided not to make a fuss, partly because I observed an earlier incident with another patron and didn't want to escalate things further.Eventually, I had to chase down the waitress to pay my bill. I felt disrespected, especially since I was alone and a woman. Having some insight into Dominican culture, I couldn't help but wonder if my treatment was influenced by racial and demographic factors.Overall, the experience wasn't great, primarily due to the poor service. I felt let down, and I wanted to share my feedback to inform others about my encounter at this restaurant.

We got here for lunchtime. We had the burrito bowl ..I would highly recommend it and selection of tacos. Lovely lively atmosphere. Bright and vivid decor and Mexican music. Extremely busy and that's always a good sign. This was my second visit as I loved it the last time pre covid. I was delighted again now.Food: 5/5

For a vegetarian, Pedro’s turned out to be a pleasant surprise. I stopped here for a snack after a full day and ordered the nachos. They had some add-on options for meat but I of course opted out of those. The waitress who took my order noted this and offered to add mushrooms and spinach instead. Nachos are generally my go-to with Tex-Mex and places do not usually offer an option like this for vegetarians, especially without asking and without charging me any extra cost! Not to mention the veggies were very tasty and made the nachos at least slightly healthier. I wish I had taken a photo but I scarfed it all down immediately. This was some days ago but I still feel compelled to write this review!Highly recommend Pedro’s—even if you’re vegetarian like me!
