Ozu Japanese Cuisine Lounge - Brooklyn

One of my go to places in the neighborhood. Pro- fast and great service and DELICIOUSCon- Still coming back from the pandemic. The sushi wasn't as good for a while but I can tell that it's coming back to normal standards but not entirely there yet.

Really want to give this place 3.5 stars because it wasn 't bad. I also really appreciated that there were so many options for special rolls, but ultimately I was disappointed and can 't see myself ordering again due to so many other places nearby that I 've had much better experiences with. I ordered a couple rolls for delivery and the delivery time was fine, packaging fine but the overall quality was a little meh. Soggy ginger as a side, stale wasabi and the sushi itself didn 't have the same freshness and crunch as other places.

I'm generally against giving a 5 star rating most places, but this place is special in a couple of ways.The most important reason the tuna sushi here is amazing. The chef told me that it's hawaiian tuna, which is smaller but more fatty. If I don't count fancy omakase tuna sushi, this is definitely the best regular tuna sushi I've had anywhere in the US and anywhere outside of Japan. It competes with tuna sushi in Japan, and that's saying something.Other reasons: The prices are cheaper than they should be it's an amazing value. The staff is great and attentive. The ambience is comfortable, clean, and friendly. The rest of my sushi, beef negamaki, salad, and soup were all fresh and expertly prepared.But really the star is the tuna.

Delicious and fresh sushi! Shrimp tempura was especially crunchy and flavorful along with their crispy duck roll with mango sauce!Service was kind and efficient. Pricing is fair and comparable to others in the neighborhood! Very chill vibe, perfect to read a book or take yourself on a solo date at. Unsure about the other negative views as I had a great meal here and would definitely come again!

If you eat here, do not dine in! The service was horrible! I went out to eat with my friends and no one even greeted us or sat us down. We had to find our own table and seat ourselves. After 20 minutes of no assistance, we had to ask for someone to come over to our table. No one came to give us refills or check on us throughout the night. At the end of the night, they brought out a bill with a 18% gratuity added and $7 because we paid with card. Very disappointing and horrible service!
