Otis - Brooklyn

This was my 2nd time at Otis and it won't be my last. The food was pretty good but heavily salted. I'm a little sensitive to salt, but my entire party, 4 people, agreed that everything was too salty, particularly the steak. The next time I go, I'll be sure to let them know that we're on a low sodium diet! Otherwise it was a lovely experience.

Truly one of my all-time best dining experiences in New York. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. EVERY single dish brought a unique twist on classic dishes that did not disappoint. The inside decor is sleek and stylish. The cocktail I ordered was super refreshing and perfect for a summer Friday night out. This was a special one and I can’t wait to go back!

Otis is a congenial venue located in a converted workshop close to the Morgan Avenue “L” station, not far from Roberta’s. Comfortable seating, friendly and efficient service, generally chill East Williamsburg vibe with reasonable noise level and well-adjusted a/c. Limited menu of interesting and reasonably-priced dishes, great cocktails. Portion sizes are generally ok albeit some are on the smaller size. After telling the waiter that I didn’t like spicy food (such as the shrimp dish, which I would’ve otherwise ordered), I ordered the pasta which, unfortunately for me, was (imo unnecessarily) spicy, spoiling what would otherwise have been a really good dish. Too bad the waiter didn’t give me a heads-up. My recommendation: before ordering, ask if a dish is spicy if that matters to you. Or better yet, maybe the management could indicate the level of spiciness on the menu, like most Thai restaurants do.

Boyfriend and I had dinner here and it was really good! Great cocktails at a decent price and the pasta was amazing. He had the chicken thighs in glaze with grits and that was incredible flavorful the chicken was very juicy. We shared the bread and burrata appetizer and it was delicious, just slightly annoyed to pay an extra dollar for extra bread?They asked us ahead of time if we were gonna share the appetizer and since I said yes I thought they would bring enough bread for two, but that’s not the case.

Great ambiance! Good is delicious, the burrata and the ribs were absolutely amazing perfect spot for a date or hang out with the girls
