Martha's Country Bakery - Brooklyn

I stumbled upon this bakery by chance, and oh my goodness! Their Napoleon pastry is absolutely incredible. The warm tea and excellent service were the cherry on top.

Nice bake shop boasting a huge selection of cakes, pastries, and hot and cold drinks. This is not your average coffee shop with a limited menu. From lattes to organic teas to milk shakes, I'm hard pressed to think of anything that they might be missing. The place was packed, but we were lucky to find a table for two in a corner. Ordered breakfast tea with cream and a latte with chocolate fudge cake and a pound cake serving. Slices were huge, and hot drinks were served in big cups.Everything was delicious and fresh. Coffee was done right, and the organic tea was fantastic. The fudge cake was nice and moist. I polished it off even though it was one of the sweetest pieces of cake I've had anywhere. It was like a sugar bomb that hit me hard. Too much sugar always ruins the desert, but that's just me. Not only these slices were sweet, they came with sprinkle powdered sugar. If you don't find too much sugary cakes and pasteries an issue, you'll love this place. Also prices are as high as they get. The fudge cake slice was almost 10 buck a piece which is one of the most expensive I've had anywhere. All in all, visiting them was a nice experience. Recommended if you're into bakery delicacies and are not afraid of a sugar rush.

I tried three flavors of cake a month ago. Napoleon is the best! The cream was not too sweet and the berries felt fresh. It reminded me of a trip to Paris? Strawberry cheesecake was a little disappointing. Because the strawberry syrup on top of the cheesecake tasted a little artificial for me. But the cheesecake itself was very delicious. I'll try other things next time!!

Warm chocolate cake with a scoop of ice cream is delicious! Chocolate fondant is rich and thick but perfectly not too sweet, ice cream portion is generous. Cozy atmosphere with dim light offers a relaxing spot to enjoy a sweet treat. They have a variety of cake and drink options to choose from!

So much to choose from. Overwhelming deliciousness. Friendly staff. Really just so much cake! Pie! Everything. We tried three things. NY Cheesecake was incredible. Key Lime Pie was too. Baklava was not how I like it. I have a recipe handed down through generations of Lebanese ancestors so I am very particular. But...for what it's worth the baklava wasn't terrible. It's a totally different beast than we make in Lebanon. More Greek I guess. But I would go for the more traditional USA desserts here. And you really won't be disappointed. Maybe bring cash and leave your bank card at home because you WILL want to buy the whole place. It's all so gooood.
