French Louie - Brooklyn

Cocktails were mixed. My wife ordered the Darling Nicky, whch was a bit much for her but lucky for me: it was delish. The bourbon cocktail I ordered was good, got mellowed and improved as the giant ice cube melted while I was drinking the Darling Nicky. The side of the brussel sprouts we shared for an appetizer was fantastic, sprouts perfectly done without that bitterness so common. The duck breast was off-the-charts fantastic. Top 5 dishes I've ever had. I'll usually go for a steak, and with the two great options on the menu it would have been so easy. So glad I went for the duck!

The foie gra came with 4 slices of yummy toast, a mustard seed thingy, some crumb thingies and reduction. Best ever. I'm a beef person, but since I had their kick-A steak last time, I enjoyed their equally scrumptious leg of lamb chop this time.

This was the right choice for our special family (party of celebration. We are a picky group as we are in the restaurant business. Tired of the Manhattan scene, we made the right choice. A warm welcoming environment, perfect menu and great wine choices that matched the food, making it easy to quickly get over the ordering process and enjoy our company. The opportunity to enjoy our time together was further enhanced by service that never interfered but was always there by our side when we needed it. Food was very good also. French Louie was well worth it as an elevated date spot. The food was excellent, service attentive and a nice setting.

I had the Eggs Louie and a side of Duck Fat Potatoes for a very pleasant and delicious Sunday Brunch. My friend had the French Toast with Creme Fraiche which looked really tasty also.
