Portillo's - Brookfield

I absolutely adore this restaurant! I always go for the Italian beef sandwich, and I love to have the bun dipped in the delicious juice – it's so moist and flavorful that it practically melts in your mouth. The sandwich is truly amazing!

I think Portillos is a fantastic restaurant. I appreciate their commitment to giving job opportunities to young people from inner cities. I used to have to make the trip to Chicago five times a year to get my Portillos fix, but now I only have to drive 25 minutes. The food is delicious.

Upon my initial visit to Portillo's, I did not quite grasp the excitement surrounding it. However, after returning for a second time and taking some recommendations from friends on food modifications, I must say I am now a fan. The Italian beef sandwich dipped in au jus with cheese and peppers was a game-changer for me. I also ordered a loaded hot dog and indulged in the delicious cake shake, which I can't stop thinking about. I may have gained a few pounds from that meal, but it was well worth it. Overall, it was an awesome lunch experience!

Our first experience here. Very groovy place to eat and listen to the old time music! Great vibe and decor! Looks like Mike and Frank of American Pickers designed the place. Old oil cans on the shelves, gas station pump globes, old signs of the 50's and 60's adorn the wall as well. Not to mention a lot of neon signs! As neat as the decor was, the floors and tables could definitely of been tended to better. My family and I had to choose the third booth we looked at because of table tops and seats being dirty from previous customers. Also saw fellow customers after me doing the same thing. Now on to the food. Both the wife and myself ordered the Chicago style dog, my son had the bacon burger and my daughter had the Caesar salad. The dogs were good, smokey hint to them, the vegetables were all good as well. My son approved the bacon burger with two thumbs up and my daughter said the Caesar salad was nothing special but nonetheless good. We also ordered onion rings and crinkle cut cheese fries, vanilla and chocolate shakes. All the extras were very good especially the onion rings which were either in the fryer too long or that is how they are, very crispy, which is how I prefer them. The chocolate shake was very thick and excellent. We will definitely be back!

We stopped because the restaurant we wanted to go to was closed. It took a long time to actually get our food after we ordered so next time I would definitely order ahead. I ordered a Italian beef sandwich and it was delicious. My son ordered a chocolate cake shake to share, that was very sweet but it's was fun to try. I would recommend stopping by.
