Bidrage med feedbackI have to say, the service at this restaurant was absolutely terrible—not just once, but twice. My teenage daughter even asked me if they were biased against us. I will never come back here again. I’ve dined here about ten times and I usually tip well, but my last two visits were the worst experiences I’ve had. I've tried nearly every restaurant in Little Italy, Bronx, NY, and Luna Cafe really needs to rethink how they treat their customers. It’s just disappointing! You never know who you might be serving; everyone deserves kindness. I didn't want to give it one star, but the platform requires it for posting. So, no stars for you!
La Luna is BEST restaurant in Little Italy left!! The best customer service, fresh food and even the water w/ lemon, salad, soup and entree was delicious! The food came out in a timely manner and we had a great time without being rushed or bothered at all. I went home later to realize I left my bag there and when I called they had it and were so sweet about it. The next morning Iwent back and had a cappuccino with a croissant which they offered to put Nutella on ???? and it was delicious too!!!!!! Thiswill be the only restaurant for me for breakfast, brunch and definitely dinner! It?s the gem of restaurants in LittleItaly!!!!!!!! Finally a great experience!!!!!!
What a disappointment. This place went down the hill for real. Ordered a margherita pizza supposed to be fresh mozz ,sauce and basil) and got this instead: A tortilla with light cheese, sauce and olives?? Hot pepper?? . Asked them for basil they saidthey don?t have it. Someone should?ve told me when they took the order. This place is a joke
The waitress was exceptionally friendly and went out of her way to explain the menu when she noticed I was searching for pictures of the dishes online. After some deliberation, especially waiting for a friend to join us, we decided to order. To our surprise, the staff offered us each a complimentary cup of traditional soup, which was delicious, though I didn't catch its name. Interestingly, the complimentary Samoon bread didn't arrive until we received our entrees, but it paired wonderfully with the soup. I opted for the Banja Luka Bunja Luka, which is made with Samoon traditional bread, pulled beef with mushrooms and onions, and sour cream. Based on the waitress’s description, I concluded it seemed like a sandwich—though she wasn’t quite sure how to classify it. To my surprise, when it arrived, it resembled a Philly cheesesteak, served with thinly sliced steak, mushrooms, and onions—and it was housed in a large, fluffy Samoon bread. When finished, the waitress asked for my thoughts and confirmed, “So is it a sandwich?” I replied, “Oh, definitely! It’s an Albanian sandwich!” So, if you hear it referred to this way at Luna Cafe, just know I was the one who coined the term! My husband chose the Mixed Combo from the traditional Albanian menu, which included five kebabs, two qofte, one sausage, and a piece of grilled chicken. It was somewhat like an appetizer sampler plate with sausages, fried patties, chicken, and a small side salad. He said it was quite good! Meanwhile, my friend ordered the penne a la vodka, which came with a side salad topped with feta.
This restaurant is a fantastic Albanian gem. With this place and the coffee shop at the other end of Arthur Avenue, you can truly experience a European vibe, complete with authentic dishes like the byrek shown in the photo. This particular byrek is filled with spinach, a popular breakfast item in Tirana, Albania. The service is pleasant, but don't expect the overly attentive style typical of some other places; you'll find a more reserved, Eastern European approach here.
