Island Delight - Brockville

Nothing special here folks. Average Chinese food. Regular type dishes. Cooked well. We were traveling bacteria to Toronto from Ottawa and did a quick search. Decore was average. Main Street was a treat. Wish we were there during business hours

Island Delight is located in central downtown Brockville, and has been operating for about 6 years. Words cannot begin to describe how delicious, fresh, tasty and 'crispy' all their menu offerings are! Lots of 'Pad Thai' choices, with wonderful, 'earthy' (not spicy) seasonings, and a decent 'Chinese' menu as well, for an excellent sit-in or take-out experience.

My wife and I go to Island Delight or we order take out regularly. Their food is always fresh and hot. The homemade egg rolls are delicious! We also like the prices, their combo plates are very reasonable.

Stopped and tried this place while going through Brockville with a friend. It was mid-afternoon so was worried it wouldn't be open. But they open at 11:30 and stay open throughout the day except on Tuesdays. Nice decor, larger than expected restaurant. They didn't have dumplings on the menu and no chili oil, so I had my doubts. We ordered lemon chicken, black pepper beef, and I.D. noodles which are thin rice noodles with pork, chicken, and shrimp. This latter dish is not typically spicy but they spiced it up for us. Everything was absolutely yummy. Chicken was tender and flavourful with the lemon sauce not overpowering. The noodles were outstanding, just the right amount of heat (spice, not temperature) with large, perfectly cooked shrimp and pieces of pork and chicken (I am salivating as I am writing this) and the black pepper beef had lots of fresh carrots, onions, green pepper and broccoli cooked just to tenderness, not the sogginess that is often found with this dish, and the pepper flavour was perfect. I would definitely return to this restaurant the next time I am in Brockville.

I took 2 children and a senior here for lunch and I let them know we had to leave in 40 minutes as we had a cruise to catch. Egg rolls and spring rolls were enjoyed by the children who are picky eaters. The won ton soup was fantastic. The lemon chicken and shrimp dishes were very good.
