Thank me later on! This place is one of the most well known in the area. I've been coming here for a very long time. If you decide to stay here you definitely will love it I'm sure!Great location! Clean and comfortable. Nothing fancy but if you are visiting Mayo it is right next door. It is also close to lots of great restaurants choices.
It is not fancy but very convenient to the hospital, which is the only reason to stay there. The rooms were clean, however there is no housekeeping during your stay unless requested. The restaurant is closed and there is not a breakfast offered with the room. Be aware there is an additional charge for parking added to your room . The pool is only 3 ft deep, so more of a kiddie pool and the hot tub has been out of order for some time. Their cancellation policy is not visitor friendly.
One of my worst hotel experiences to date. In the first room I was checked into, a few hours after unpacking it started raining outside and 3 leaks became apparent in the window causing water to stream in, splashing on the window ledge, and forming a puddle. I called to request a room change but before I could say anything was told to call the front desk later. After waiting and calling again, they asked me to wait 15 minutes before going down to the lobby for a room change. Upon going to the lobby, 2 employees could not figure out how to make the room change and had to call a supervisor who stated it would take 5-10 minutes for her to make the change. The room I was finally changed to had the loudest flushing toilet, a noisy AC unit that woke me up repeatedly throughout the night, the TV had dotted lines going all across the screen when on, and a sink faucet that was leaking from the base and also oxidized all over. Pillows were also super uncomfy and upon laying down on them for a few minutes, became completely flat with no support of your head; I had to stack 3 pillows for any resemblance of support. Additionally, some pillow looked heavily used and very dingy. The walls between rooms are also paper thin as I could the phone alarm going off in the room next door. What was probably the most frustrating is I was staying at the hotel for a conference I was attending at the Mayo Clinic and the wifi in the hotel was TERRIBLE! Upon selecting the wifi, no prompts are received and it just eventually says connected; however, when you try to do anything that requires wifi, nothing would work. Things would keep loading/refreshing before crashing. I couldn't make video calls with my family. When I tried calling the front desk for help I was told to forget the network and retry and then enter my information when prompted and upon telling the clerk I have forgotten and reconnected numerous time and never receive a prompt to enter my information, they told me to try again. Not worth $120+tax/night! Stay away!
The location for Mayo clinic and treatments is handy. The front desk staff is terrible. I have never met a worse front desk staff before. My son had 6 weeks of cancer treatments so we were already stressed and the front desk staff made it worse. Theydo not understand hospitality and made our long stay horrible. No hot water and they wanted to down grade our room. Which wasnot an option for us. DOWNGRADE not equal or better due to their issue which they didn't own. Horrible management. During aterrible time for us this hotel made it worse. The rooms are NOT wheelchair friendly. The front desk during the day offered NOhelp and seemed to want to make things worse for us. We went to upper management. A lease we signed to get a Minnesota law taxbreak disappeared. Front desk manager didn't provide correct name. Housekeeping was delayed but the Housekeeping staff isnice. Youth groups on the weekends wrecked havoc. Worst place I have ever stayed. The billing department helped us out Horribleplace to stay
Very poor facilities from room to parking. The list is too many to go into. We booked for a whole week but checked out within 24 hours. Beds were not Queens as advertised. Room was small and bathroom was very tiny making it difficult for someone in awheelchair and mobility issues. I would like to say ?but the staff was great? but I can?t. They seemed indifferent orunmotivated. Maybe just worn down. It?s not their fault. They?re associated with a property that is long overdue for acomprehensive upgrade or demolition. KHG owns and operates the property and without the strict standards of a national brand canget away with charging market prices for less than market accommodations. It is right across the street from the Mayo Clinic, which is my we booked it, but it?s the only thing positive about the place.
