The Chipped Cup - Broad Channel

This would absolutely be the #1 go to coffee shop in NYC were it not for the lack of stable fast wifi. It has everything except wifi does not work well at all. It has a beautiful hidden patio a nice charming coffee area indoors etc… Also the coffee, hot chocolate and mocha is good.

I used to love coming here! If I could, I'd leave 5 stars for the staff. I used to work in retail and can see the employees are trying their best with the resources they have — there've been a few times that I've seen them haul in milk from the grocery store because they've run out. Other customers get insanely cranky when they run out of supplies, but the staff goes above and beyond to compensate (and they run out of supplies pretty frequently. I’ve been coming to the chipped cup around once a month for a while now. Not often enough to say I’m really a regular, but frequently enough to notice when things change in the shop. The biggest change I’ve noticed since my last visit a couple of months ago would probably be the staff. This little coffee shop is too cute. They have ample indoor as well as outdoor patio seating and it is a clearly a very popular place because every single seat and table was taken when we went in! To get into the coffee shop, you have to walk down a short flight of stairs, and then you enter. It feels very unassuming.
