Izakaya Nomad - Broad Channel

I rarely leave a so-so review of a place, I usually just don't leave a review at all. But the food is just…ok. There are so many great izakayas in NYC and this one is just…ok. I hope that the owner takes into account the issues with the food quality and does something about it. The interior is great, service is great, but the food is not so great.

Great food. Only issues is being denied inspite of having a reservation. Reservation nor I showed in their system inspite of having past reservations with them. Otherwise great food.

Cool Japanese Spot! Lively and intimate atmosphere, great for a date or meeting with friends. Shared apps: beef skewer, Shishito peppers, Gyozas were Excellent. The “famous” meatballs (pictured, with dipping sauce) are a must get! Sushi was excellent, got the Godzilla roll (pictured, right), loved the Golden roll (pictured, left). Cocktails were only ok, they are premade so I'd stick to the Japanese beer or sake. Good Service!

Food was kinda average here, came here with a friend for dinner last week and wasn’t that impressed… tried a bunch of dishes from tofu to grilled squid, beef tongue, chicken skewers, purple yam fries, mushrooms and nothing really stood out. I’d recommend finding other spots to check out over this place. Friendly staff though but they’ll give you the bill when your time’s up to prep for the next group, even though the place was pretty empty.

Very cool Japanese restaurant with a lively atmosphere and quality service. Attention to detail of decor and design was appreciated. We ordered about 7 or 8 menu items and it was good — probably a little small in portions than I expected, but enjoyed by all
