French Louie - Broad Channel

Served nuts to someone who we told them had a nut allergy. On top of nearly killing one of us, they had a bad attitude about it afterwards.

The steak tartare was over-salted, but the pate, steak, mussels, and especially the duck, were terrific. My only real complaint was a lack of some French comfort staples like vichyssoise, ratatouille, cheeses, and the like. Felt more like an American menu with a bit of French influence. Still — actual quality of the food was generally superb.

Been here for brunch and dinner — and always enjoy my time. The outdoor patio is so cute during the summer and the indoor dining at night is super sexy. Great for date night. Writing this in particular because the host on Sun 1/8 PM was great — I made a mistake in Resy but he was very gracious in accomodating us. The cast iron chicken was amazing, so juicy and flavorful. The ambiance is perfect for date night, girls' night and or a night out with a group of friends. It very much delivers French café and they have an outdoor patio/garden area for dining. The food is tasty, but nothing extraordinary. I ordered the gnocchi and although it was soft pillow-like in the mouth, it was missing something… like a sauce of some sort. I recently had the pleasure of dining at French Louie in Brooklyn and I have to say, the food was absolutely amazing! The highlight of the meal for me was definitely the gnocchi dish — the flavors were perfectly balanced and the texture was spot on.
