Bidrage med feedbackCipriani on Broadway is one of the renowned Cipriani venues in New York City. It's located at 25 Broadway in the Financial District of Manhattan in the old Cunard Lines building.
I attended a wedding at 25 Broadway this past weekend. This is one of the most beautiful venues imaginable. It was breathtaking. The food was delicious and the service was impeccable. That being said, I would never rent this space for an event that involved music. The main room is NOT acoustically prepared for a band, a DJ, for anything louder than an iPhone speaker. The sound technicians, in a separate room off to the side, working out of sight like the Wizards of Oz, mixed the sound as if they had no idea what was actually going on in the room. It was deafening. It was horrible. I'm a professional musician and am attuned to this sort of thing. The band needed to be turned down and mixed by someone who knew what they were doing. There was a trumpet player. Didn't hear him once. There was a sax player. Same thing. There was a young lady playing an electric violin. The ONLY time I knew she was playing was when I went out of the main room and heard her coming through the speakers in the, let's call it, the entrance area. At this point I realized that the sound guys were probably mixing through headphones and, by doing so, heard everything perfectly. But in the main room where all the guests were? The sound sucked. It was a major unmixed, unbearable, unprofessional, barrage of bull. I should add that it was practically impossible to talk. Not only because of the volume, but also because most of us at the table stuck torn up bar napkins in our ears.My suggestion: Figure out a way to hang drapes. Hire an acoustician. Put your sound guys in the room. Try asking the band to player softer (I know most of them won't do so.)Otherwise, I'll dread the thought of ever again attending anything at this place.
The Hip Hop Museum's 50th anniversary of Hip Hop culture inaugural fundraising gala at Cipriani was a memorable evening! This historic space was transformed, and the service was so gracious thanks to the staff. And the prime rib was delicious, too! Thanks, Chef!
It's just plain old beautiful in this old arrival terminal (for the first class) passengers of the one of the old cruise ship lines.Try to keep your eyes off the cieling. It's fascinating
Great venue right on Wall Street opposite the bull. Inside is beautiful, nothing like you would imagine from the outside with 50ft high ceilings painted like Venice.
