Bidrage med feedbackI had a fantastic experience at High Tides. The venue itself is quite lovely and would be a perfect spot to enjoy during the summer, especially on the deck that overlooks the Neshaminy Creek. The interior is spacious and bright, with plenty of tables and booths available. I visited for lunch and was pleased to see a variety of lunch specials. I ordered the sweet potato and black bean burger on a roll, served with fries and a cup of tomato bisque. The sandwich and fries were both excellent. The burger was sizable and very flavorful, well-seasoned and generously topped with lettuce, tomato, onion, and their special sauce. However, I found the soup to be just okay—somewhat thin and not to my taste. My friend chose the Captain's Burger, which was enormous! She couldn't finish it, and if I hadn’t been so full, I would have helped her out. She also had a cup of New England clam chowder, which she felt was just average, too. The service was exceptional; our food arrived quickly, and our server was very attentive. As soon as we finished our diet cokes, she was right there with refills. She also brewed us a fabulous pot of coffee to round off our meal. I’m really looking forward to returning for dinner and enjoying some time on the deck, as long as the weather warms up!
The kitchen stops serving food around 11pm on a Friday night. The bartenders pay no attention to refilling drinks. The girls were on their phones and eating burgers instead of serving. The food is mediocre. The cheesesteak eggrolls are dry. The margarita flatbread is basically a cheese pizza with diced tomatoes. The crab cake sandwich is just shredded crab with a lot of breadcrumb filling. I ordered a Pineapple Express drink--it's supposed to be rum, vodka and pineapple juice... pretty sure I paid $6 for a glass of pineapple juice.
I'm giving 2 stars because the outside is so nice and our waitress was sweet. We keep giving this place a try every once in a while. I didn't expect much because it's bar food. But . I've never had such low end bar food. Totally not fresh food. We went today Sunday because it was a stunning day and we were near by. My hubby remembered their pizza was ok and agreed to try it again. He got that with pepperoni sausage, it was not only the weirdest taste the sausage was 100% breakfast sausage. I tried 3 little pieces to be sure. Yup jimmy dean breakfast sausage. I had a chicken parm sandwich. Sounded pretty easy and not hard to screw up. The chicken was totally frozen patties, soft watery inside. The kind you buy in a pinch for the kids. Not something to be served at a restaurant. Just soggy. The app was the sampler, 2 mozzarella sticks both with no mozzarella inside we laughed at that. Wings ehhh. Onion rings so so. The best thing was the corona and the beautiful weather. This place has so much potential. But the whole food part need to be re-vamped. I'd rather see 10 items that are amazing and fresh then what is being served. It's not fresh food. We've been in the food business, we can tell.
There was hardly anything that went right here tonight. I really wanted to like this place because it is in a prime spot right off of the creek and has a pretty cool view while eating. The place looked very clean and well kept. We were greeted and seated almost immediately. It wasn't very busy though. Our waitress came over within minutes and took our drink order. I guess they use this pad to put in orders electronically. It didnt seem very resourceful to me especially for two waters and two cokes. We ordered fried pickles, pulled pork loaded tots and coconut shrimp for appetizers. The coconut shrimp had a nice taste but the shrimp was not firm it was very soft. The tots were ok but the pulled pork was room temperature and not very tasty. The fried pickles were so so. We really weren't getting off to a great start. Our entrees were Chicken Parmigiana and Chicken Marsala. The Chicen Parm was tasteless and not crisp at all. My wife said she liked the gravy. It was not a very nice size for the price. It was like a Chicken Parm you would find in a Diner. The Chicken Marsala was terrible. I didnt even eat half of it. I dont know what the sauce was but it did not taste like Chicken Marsala one bit. There was one I am not even exaggerating one mushroom on the whole plate. The little bit of chicken that I got looked like scraps that you would discard after putting the good chicken in a dish. It was absolutely the worst Chicken Marsala I have ever eaten. Our drinks were not refilled in a timely manner. We sat there thirsty a few times. Our used dishes just sat on the edge of the table for the whole meal. This place is simply a bar and a nice bar at that. If you are looking for a nice dinner look elsewhere.
I visited this restaurant on a Thursday evening and had the pleasure of sitting outside on the stunning patio that overlooks the water. It was absolutely beautiful! We ordered drinks, oysters, and clams, all of which were delicious. Our waitress, Allison, was fantastic! Her lovely personality made our night even more enjoyable.
