Bocca - Bristol, City of

Loved this bar. Great team who Are very efficient and lots of choice for beers if you are a fanatic of unheard of brews! Lovely environment and although we didn’t eat here the food Looked terrific and lots of busy tables some reckon a popular haunt. Just off Temple street area and close to other bars and restaurants so All up a really good couple Of hours here.

Before going to the theatre, we stopped at Bocabar for a quick meal. The menu is varied with burgers, pizza and salads all options. We started with crispy squid (average quality and somewhat lacking in flavour) and ciabatta and Houmous (OK). For the main items we had the Feta green salad and the Smokey poke bowl, the salad was very good as was the poke bowl. The restaurant space is quite noisy and in the winter relatively cold because a number of tables are near the door.

Popped in for coffee and cake. Had to wait ages and ages. Coffee was tepid. Cake was cold and tasteless. So, not so great really.

A very disappointing visit on a Thursday lunchtime. They had a large private party going on so the menu was depleted to pizzas, fries and salad. Come on guys! If you know how many bookings you have, you can employ more staff to ensure all your customers get a good experience.

I used to visit this restaurant regularly before Covid, and my first return visit did not disappoint! Located in the trendy Paintworks district, Bocobar caters to art enthusiasts with its association to businesses like the Martin Parr Foundation and RPS. The venue is spacious and offers a variety of seating options suitable for different group sizes, with easy access for prams. The staff is incredibly friendly and welcoming, creating a genuine and inviting atmosphere. The bar offers a wide selection of drinks, including support for local breweries. While the menu may not be vegetarian-friendly, there are still plenty of options for meat lovers. Pizza enthusiasts will be pleased with the variety of choices available. Additionally, the deli counter offers a wide range of options, including salads like the delicious Caesar Salad with chicken, bacon, and anchovies. Overall, I highly recommend Bocobar and can't wait for my next visit.
