Rendez Vous Persian Cafe - Brisbane

We had a bit of trouble finding this restaurant when we took the train. We mistakenly got off at the Park Road station instead of Milton, but some helpful young ladies pointed us in the right direction. After a quick train ride back to the city and then to Milton, we finally arrived. Despite some initial hesitations due to negative reviews, we were pleasantly surprised. The voucher included a main dish, soft drinks, Persian tea with baklava, and Turkish delight. We were relieved to discover it was BYO, so we ordered a bottle of merlot to enjoy with our meal. The food, including a traditional Persian dish of skewered kebabs on a bed of rice, was delicious. The tea and dessert were also outstanding. The service was fantastic, and the staff were very attentive. We even got to learn about how the rice was cooked and the story behind the picture on the teapot. Overall, it was a pleasant experience, especially for the price we paid with the voucher. The only suggestion would be to book online as they don't always answer the phone, but respond promptly to emails.

Had some dramas getting to this place as we took the train. We could take an Airport Express train one stop but we did not realize that the Park Road Station was not Milton. So we got off there and no one seemed to know where this restaurant was. Then we met this young lady who told us we're in the wrong place. Had to take the train back to the city and take another train to Milton. We got there on time though cos we left early. The voucher included a main dish, soft drinks, Persian tea with baklava and Turkish delight. Was a bit apprehensive in the beginning because of the bad reviews. Good thing was it was a byo without corkage & so after we ordered I nipped off and got a bottle of Merlot. Food was traditional Persian with a shish kebab buried on a bed of rice, sliced onions, yoghurt and half a burnt tomato. Food was pretty OK compared to the reviews. Tea and dessert was excellent. Service was fantastic and very obliging. I asked some questions about how the rice was cooked and about a picture of a fierce looking guy on the teapot. Got a bit of a history lesson. They also had water pipes ( hookah ). Overall it was a pleasant experience for what we paid for the voucher. You have to book online. They do not answer the phone but send you an email.

Despite being understaffed, the restaurant provided fresh food and had a positive attitude, which ultimately made the experience a good one. I would rate it 4 stars when compared to other restaurants in the region.
