Bidrage med feedbackI know this place sometimes gets a bad rap but I love it. Really nice pasta and classic Jamie dishes full of flavour. The service is reasonable but the wine list could do with an upgrade maybe I’m just not a fan of Qld wines. All in all, good value for money and pleasant
Came here with family for a Saturday lunch. They had a special festive feast menu $55 per person specifically for Christmas and I had the “famous antipasti plank”, the “truffled flash steak” and the “festive dark chocolate tart”. I also managed to try the “crunchy Italian nachos”, the “famous prawn linguine” and “Jamie’s Black Forest Panna Cotta”. <br/ <br/ Food:<br/ <br/ Starters:<br/ I was quite happy with my choice of starters, main and dessert. The “antipasti plank” was very tasty, had a lot of great elements which I love! such as the prosciutto ham, olives, sun dried dip, salami and bocconcini cheese. Some were a bit salty such as the dip and the olives but the flavours balances out well when eaten with bread. The “crunchy Italian nachos” was quite interesting, it tasted like small pieces of fried bread but it came with pieces of chili and a spicy tomato sauce. <br/ <br/ Main:<br/ The truffled flash steak was amazing! Cooked to perfection and it wasn’t too heavy not like a regular T bone steak . It was thin with a nice, subtle chargrilled taste to it and tasted great with the portobello mushrooms and red wine sauce. The prawn linguine was average, a bit bland and there were not a lot of prawn in it. Quite disappointing considering what you are paying for it. <br/ <br/ Dessert:<br/ The “dark chocolate tart” was my favourite, the consistency of the dark chocolate and the biscuit base of it worked really well with the sourness of the raspberry sauce and sweetness of the ice cream. It was a great way to end a meal with. The Panna cotta was ok, it was quite bland when eaten by itself but it jad a bit of flavour with the cranberry sauce and chocolate flakes. I wish that they would put more cranberry sauce though. <br/ <br/ Ambiance and Service:<br/ The environment is good for a romantic mood as it has a lot of dimmed lighting so the place is a bit dark. Staff were friendly but the food came out a bit slow, mainly because the bar is located on the second floor and the kitchen is downstairs so each waiter must go down and up stairs in order to deliver food to customers. <br/ <br/ Overall:<br/ The special feast menu is a good option as it is much cheaper considering that a main meal would be around $25 $35 and an entree or dessert is $15 $25. The proportion is excellent because you get three courses each so it is filling but it doesn’t make you feel too bloated. It was definitely worth the price especially because I chose the steak and antipasti plank which would have costed heaps more when ordered individually.
Went here last night to celebrate. We had the christmas menu (dinner) for two. The plank and nachos as starters, linguine and gnocchi for mains and the panna cotta and tiramisu for dessert. Everything was sooo delicious. Serving was massive too! We went out feeling like we had food triplets
We had a fantastic time at this restaurant. The food was delicious, offering a unique twist on traditional Italian dishes. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive, ensuring a pleasant dining experience. Our meals arrived promptly as well.
Our last minute booking was received and we arrived on time to be shown to our table towards the back of the restaurant. The fit out is interesting a small bar area at the front with fluoro lights and chalk boards with pasta recipes, cocktail menu and specials written on them . Near where we sat there was a magnificent chandelier , a bigger bar which was also where chefs prepared the cold entrees and meat and cheese boards. We order drinks and peruse the menu. The new spring menu was full of delicious options so we chose the new additions. First up to have with our Prosecco we have the chargrilled zucchini bruschetta— so good! After that we shared a side of Brussel sprouts in a balsamic dressing with red onions. Our mains were chicken in a romesco style sauce generous size and a baked salmon on a caprese salad base. They were both filling and looked as good as they tasted. We could not resist the sound of the desserts Eton Mess and brownie with real chocolate sauce, ice cream and caramel popcorn also both winners. Good value meals served by friendly and efficient staff. They are also doing Christmas parties so go try Jamie’s you’ll have a great time.
