Bidrage med feedbackSilly me,went last night in school holidays 7thJuly,booked at 11.a.m. no table available, had to wait, put us on the table by kids recreation area, sign says Children must be under control hello Charlies!had to wait 15 minutes while containers were topped up,badly cooked S&S pork, satay beef, vegetables were raw, potatobake undercooked and watery.Ran out of plates and cutlery at one stage, dessert bowls still wet, floor filthy,**** kids tearing around tables knocking people,I know its a kid friendly place, but it will be a while before we go back, disorganised and grubby.Felt sorry for the always friendly staff.
Pretty good serves. Good food. Gluten free also. The annoying thing is that once they said we have to book ahead so it cost more to just get there?? And they were nearly booked out. Bad thing is that it gets busy and you have to line up for ages. Sometimes you have to wait a little longer for your food too. Overall pretty good for all you can eat. Probably one of the better all you can eat places in terms of quality. Abit more on the expensive side for all you can eat though.
Three years ago we had a very bad experience at Charlies. I was dining with my wife, daughter, brother and his wife. We said we would never eat there again. The problem arose from them clearing food from the bars early and there being no vegetarian food available. We were told that things had improved at Charlies, so we booked a table for three last evening. From the display and taste of food Charlies still are not catering for vegetarians. Who now mixes small slithers of bacon and ham in vegetable and cold pasta dishes. I started to feel nauseous after eating some beans mixed with what tasted like something with meat juices added. I had to leave after a forkful of beetroot, and three small roast potatoes, I couldn't even finish my drink I felt so sick. The mushroom sauce I had put on the potato tasted as though it contained grease of some sort.My wife who eats most things said, "we will never go there again, everything seemed to be a bit stale, except the sweets".
The "all you can eat" section is pretty good value for money, if you don't mind 1. people pushing you along to get to the food 2. Having them slop one dish of food into another 3. Swapping serving spoons between different trays, so you get bits and pieces of several dishes, rather than just the 1 you chose 4. You are happy to put up with luke warm food and 5. You think a very noisy dining room is okay because you didn't want to talk to anyone anyway! The dining room is a very large area and when you stand back and just observe the "goings on", it looks like a mass of animals at a feeding trough. This is a Saturday night, so it might be calmer and much better during the quiet of the week. Worth a try I suppose. I prefer the front bar of the Metro. Has a normal pub menu at fair prices and the service was friendly. .... and it was very quiet and relaxing. Just my cup of tea :)
We had a big gathering there because as the place is big , spacious with a high ceiling. That is the only thing I can say it was good along with my Pepsi! Food was oily, sloppy, no taste , no hygiene , I had to go through few spoons before finding a bare able one not smudgy! There was pizza/ French fries and nuggets bar , roast bar and Chinese/ Asian bar .. Noodles was over heated with a weird sour taste, rice was smudgy and lumpy, pork sweet & sour was chewy to the extend you really can't cut it through a knife. Please stay away from the spring roles and soup , they were yuk! The desserts were all gowyyy but an ice cream always wins. I am really not a picky eater, I love my food and I love trying new things but I appreciate every $ I spend and this place doesn't not deserve any of what I paid and I won't say that paying 52 $ with no drinks for 2 ppl and. 5 yrs old is so cheap! And not because it is a cheaper place then they can get away with owful food
