El Maguey - Bridgeton

I ordered the three-taco meal (Carne Asada, Chicken, and Carnitas) with rice and beans, along with a margarita and a quesadilla to go. THE FOOD WAS ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! The Carne Asada and Carnitas tacos were especially fantastic! The portions were larger than at any other Mexican restaurant I’ve been to, and they didn’t skimp on the meat! You could actually see the spices on the food, which showed how well-seasoned it was. I also loved that the salsa verde was nicely spiced. The margarita was great too, and I did end up burning my mouth on the beans because I couldn't wait to dig in, haha! I’m surprised this place doesn’t have a better rating, but in my opinion, that reflects more on the customers than the restaurant itself. If you aren’t satisfied with your meal, it’s your responsibility to let your server know so they can address it; otherwise, you’ll likely end up having a mediocre experience. The servers were attentive and consistently checked in to see if everything was satisfactory, so remember to speak up if something doesn’t meet your expectations! I’ll definitely be back with my family!

I always have a fantastic experience at this place. It never lets me down! The staff is wonderful, and the location is perfect!

The food was delicious and was served quickly and hot. The atmosphere was lively and fun, with a festive vibe. The mariachi band played contemporary songs that matched our table's celebration. One of the musicians had a bag full of instruments, and he would cleverly switch them out to play different parts of the songs. He was incredibly talented! We had a fantastic time and can’t wait to return!

This place is a must if you are in the area. One of my families favorite spots for many years. Amazing price, excellent taste and friendly staff make El Maguey one of my top 5 in the area.

Nasty food, fajita vegetables were soggy and mushy. Server came to take our order and a man dropped off our meal in less then 10minutes. Never saw our server again we finally had to track her down to get our bill. Our water glasses were empty we wanted more sour cream and sauce, that never happened. We won't be back! I am always a big tipper but her tip was 1 cent. Food was not prepared fresh. You can't have soggy overcooked fajitas prepared in less than 10 minutes. It was old!
