Stevens Street Grill - Bridgeport

My friends and I enjoy the lay-out, the decor, and the service. SO WHO 'S IN A HURRY? When you get as old as me, it 's nice to slow down and smell the roses . We love to go there and have breakfast at least once a week, plus usually going there on week-ends.

Food is ok- service is usually good... But the amount of time it takes to get your food is ridiculous. Definitely don't go there if you have any other plans cause you will miss them. Not sure why a salad takes 45 minutes to prepare but it does.

This is not the place to go if you are in a hurry. All food is cooked to order so it takes a bit longer, but it's well worth the wait. The portions are large, the food is fresh and the staff is super friendly!

Got here at 7:20, they close at 8. We were the only table in the restaurant that hadn’t ordered our food. There were only two other tables in the restaurant. We didn’t get our greasy, lukewarm food until 8:15. We never got our salads. We watched who we realized was the cook pace back and forth on the phone for almost 20 minutes, which is what made us pay attention to why our food was taking so long. This was our first and last time here. The “Manager” made excuses for absolutely everything. When we mentioned the cook being on the phone for so long, her response was, “yeah as he was waiting on your sirloins to cook.” Seriously?! She took off 25 but unfortunately, she lost customers because of not only the poor food, but because of the way she handled it. Completely disappointed. The sirloin chopped steak was way overcooked and dry. The chicken fried steak and fried zucchini were so greasy my husband couldn’t eat it. Was not worth the we had to pay.

The steak these people grilled me was top notch. Server was attentive, but not overly so. Some places seem to dress the food up pretty to take your eyes off the size of the portions. Not these guys. Straight steak and potatoes.
