Bidrage med feedbackMy husband and I visited the Eveready diner this morning for breakfast. I usually go with a friend of mine and we had breakfast there maybe once every six weeks. So I thought my husband would enjoy it as well. I ordered my favorite, Benedict with a side order of fruit instead of the usual home fries. My husband on the other hand ordered eggs over easy with corn beef hash and hone fries. Both dishes were delicious. However, we did also order coffee, and both of us did not have refills. When the bill came, we were astounded to see that we were charged $3.50 per cup of coffee. Now, I don't know about you but I think that's an excessive amount for a regular diner cup of coffee. If I wanted a gourmet cup of coffee I wouldn't have minded paying that much. So, as a result of being charged an exorbitant amount for one measly little cup of coffee, which I didn't drink because it tasted burnt, is a bit ridiculous. Most Diners include coffee with your breakfast or for a lesser amount and refills are free. And for that reason, I give them a bad review.
This Diner was such a hit when it opened up, so naturally when I got back in town I had to stop in. My Cousin and I ordered calamari disappointing) spinach dip not for me but my cousin enjoyed it) and shrimp wraps consisted of : shrimp, bacon, avocado) three of my favorite foods so this wrap definitely had an upper hand with me. In any case, i would suggest ordering the classics if decide to visit this diner, breakfast burgers, because anything else could be a hit or miss. But I will end on a positive not, the staff are young, pleasant and attentive !
Food here is decent. Unfortunately the problem is broken table they gave us to sit at. No not just a wobble the whole table was lop sided and failing apart. The glasses were dirty and so was the silverware. The wait staff it's friendly and nice.
First time I ordered a take out egg salad sandwich. About 2 hours later after sandwich was in home fridge, I tried to eat it. Egg salad was rancid and had a vinegar taste, I brought it back for a refund with no problem. Problem is, I ordered take out cole slaw about a month ago, and it was also spoiled after 12 hours in fridge. Wife says they are mixing old with new to save money. Will never go back. Their location gets them customers from out of town travelling thru, from being off the main route (I-84)
Had dinner here tonight. Service was excellent, we had a very sweet waitress. The chicken matzoh ball soup was really bad. Between the high salt content and under cooked balls ...my main dish was fine but my husbands open roast beef was fatty.
