Bidrage med feedbackSeems like the review by John Lie must have been confused, because this is a restaurant on a golf course, not a hotel. My fiance and I are planning our wedding here (Wedgewood Weddings partners with the Nines Restaurant) and every time we come by for a planning meeting we come eat at the Nines Restaurant. In particular we as always hope to see the bartender Jeff; whenever we stop in he gives us superb service, going above and beyond. (Good enough that we specifically requested he bar tend our wedding)
This was easily the worst among the so-called luxury hotels I have stayed in I have stayed in well over 500 over the past twenty years . There's that tell-tale sign of a poorly managed hotel as I waited a long time before I was checked in. I was initially put in a room so close to the lobby that I could hear the noise. When I asked to be put as far away from the elevators or the lobby as possible, I was given a room right next to the staff elevator ! . No apologies. The breakfast was equally atrocious. One morning I was told the wait would be 45 minutes. When I ordered eggs benedict, the dish itself was extremely hot but the food was stone cold indeed, the spinach was partially frozen . When I asked to have it reheated, it came back at roughly the same temperature. I can go on, but it is not worth the while. It is NOT a luxury hotel, but basically a sub-standard Hilton or Marriott and, indeed, it is owned by the latter .
What can I say, this is a place to stay, linger and enjoy. The food is wonderful, the atmosphere is to be experienced. take a loved one and spend some time getting to know each other again. The staff was wonderful and attentive, giving us great selections to choose from.
Hit 9 holes with the kiddos and stopped in for lunch. The food was acceptable and the waiter was quite nice. I don't have any complaints.
Sunday brunch was nothing special. We had hot plates for cold foods and cold plates for hot food. But the hot foods were cold to begin with so it didnt really make a difference. The taste of the food was nothing of note either. I was happy to see lox with bagels and cream cheese until I discovered the very skimpy amount of cream cheese both in quantity and portion size. This coupled with dried out out bagels was a big disappointment. The only thing that was as one would expect was the fresh fruit, and that was picked over and quite a few choices were unripe. Definately not what one would expect from a golf course. The 1/2 hour wait for our check was final insult. Although the staff was courteous and polite there was no making up for the lack luster foods from the steam table.
