Bidrage med feedbackIf I could give half's I would give Seagrille and 3.5/5. They're definitely cooking up some fantastic meals here and there are only a couple things I would change/suggest. My boyfriend and I were staying just for the night and decided to head to the Seagrille for dinner. Our waiter was fantastic, he was super attentive and genuinely enjoyed chatting. He would give us a heads up on when our meals would come out and that their was a delay on the bread bowl and he apologized for that. It was obvious the kitchen was busy as the food service was slow to come out. We ordered the prawn appetizer which was super flavourful (recommend) and for mains I had the Sable fish and my partner had the Ahi Tuna. The Sable fish was killer, perfectly cooked and melted like butter (highly recommend). The Ahi tuna was too perfectly seared and came with a really lovely squid ink barley. The bread bowl did eventually make it to the table and it was too super fresh and warm, the salty butter melted really nicely into the white crusty bread. Our experience was delightful for dinner. We headed to the Seagrille again the next morning for brunch and I got the Lox and Bagel and my parter got the Veggie Benedict. The lox were definitely on the saltier side and a couple of dry tips to the salmon but overall it was good. I would 100% take away the garnish of a tomato and chopped kale, it looks sad and wilted on the plate. As for the veggie Benedict, it was good but the hollandaise was fairly dry on top so I think it was waiting either under the heat too long or just wasn't brought out quick enough after the dish had been plated. The eggs were stunning, a deep rich orange yolk! My favourite! All in all, a great experience.
Breakfasts here are pretty good. Enjoyed my Latte the most. Dinner was mediocre. Salmon Tuna Sashimi was excellent. Very fresh! Entrées were less impressive. Service is friendly but so very slow. Even when it's just 2 tables and two servers working.
We came here for my birthday dinner as we were staying at the hotel (Brentwood). We ordered the shrimp/prawn appetizer to start. The prawns were huge but there were only 3 and it was okay, but nothing amazing. I ordered the pork belly and it was delicious! My bf ordered the steak and he enjoyed his dish as well. The views from the tables near the windows were really nice, albeit a bit obscured by the outdoor patio, but still a nice scenic view to enjoy with dinner. It's not like Palisades or Salty's view, but it's still very nice (sort of like Daniel's on Lake Union or Leschi). The service was a bit spotty, I don't know if the server we had was new or he was just distracted, but it wasn't the best experience we've had. They also didn't have a host(ess) or an entrance table to wait at, so it was awkward trying to figure out if you needed to wait to be seated and who would be coming to help. Once we were finally seated, the service was a bit more of the same. Nothing awful happened, but it wasn't great service. At least everyone was friendly. For breakfast the next morning we came back just to make our lives easier and was disappointed to see no buffet. The prices were too high to justify and the service was the same as the previous night. Also, the bill came with no pen to charge to the room, and we had to wait another 10 minutes for someone to come by. Just because we don't look like we're staying at the hotel doesn't mean you still shouldn't provide a pen! Anyway, food is pretty good, service needs a bit more work, overall a 3.5 star for the whole package.
We went for lunch on the deck today and enjoyed a terrific couple of hours. We ordered the salmon and tuna sashimi and a sushi roll that had ahi tuna, spinach, and mayo beautifully presented. Absolutely first class food, service and ambience. Fat Tug ale was the perfect complement.
We came to Brentwood Bay in 2011 and came back this year and had gotten the special that had a credit for the restaurant. We were wary after reading all the bad reviews though we don't recall having a bad experience back in 2011. Though my hubby said yelpers suggested the sushi. We ordered oysters, happy roll (had strawberries), the roll with eel, tuna tataki, prawn and avocado salad, and pecan pie. We were both surprised at how good the rolls were especially since we usually prefer the more traditional, simpler preps of fish. The prawn and avocado salad was a bit strange to me, some of the components went well together, but others were just weird. And the pecan pie was really good, had a nice kick to it. Would definitely get the roll and pecan pie again.
