Restaurant Blaufeuer - Bremen

Wanted real food pork chop on the bone cooked to perfection with baby boiled potato Laura had salmon on a bed of vegetables in a light mustard sauce all Perfectly cooked!

The restaurant looks lovely, by the river, reasonable menu but written in a way that is meant to confuse you. We arrived at 7.30 expecting a nice easy meal as we were all pretty hungry. Ordered drinks, water and a beer arrived quickly and then (with only 7 other tables occupied), any resemblance of speed stopped dead. 30 minutes later our wine arrived and at 9pm, our starters finally arrived; it took 1.5 hours for starters that were all salads! A further 45 minutes later and after complaining to every staff member we could find, our mains arrived. Throughout this, no-one could tell us when we would get our meals and we were not warned that they were busy (apparently there were a lot of room service meals). Seriously, the service was the worst I have ever experienced. The food was okay but at 9:45, you just want food, you't eat at McDonalds if you could. The staff gave us some wine and water at this stage in an attempt to make it all ok but it was all too little too late. On a wednesday night, with only 8 tables occupied and 4 serving staff, you'd expect more!

As you would imagine this restaurant is as typical as most hotel restaurant. Decent food without being anything special. If you order the burger there is enough food. Should you order the pasta it is quite a small portion.

Blue fire: restaurant, bar, terrace belongs to the Steigenberger Hotel Bremen. Located directly on the Weser, you have a great view. The staff is polite, fast and inconspicuous. Price: Power Super. Suitable for lunch table, coffee cake, dinner or for a drink. For 2 people or even larger groups. Conclusion: recommended!

My 5 friends and I had a great stay in Bremen and the Steigenberger Hotel. Nice service, nice rooms, special requests were no problem, rich breakfast and great value. We recommend that. And Bremen is always worth a trip.
