Bidrage med feedbackAfter not visiting the Thomas Paine restaurant for a few months due to my husband being in the hospital, we decided to go today for Sunday lunch. We brought along my Hearing Dog, who was also warmly welcomed. The food was delicious as always, and we really missed this place. We can't wait to come back again. We also took a look around the Thomas Paine museum located in the hotel, which was very informative and worth exploring. The motto of the restaurant, "come as guests, leave as friends," truly reflects the warm and welcoming atmosphere. The owners and staff were lovely, making it a wonderful place to dine.
Stopped here after a long drive, we were greeted by the lovely owner who was so accommodating allowing us to have the restaurant menu in the bar as we had our dog with us. This is a family run business and you can see the care and effort they put in. beautiful building and nice comfy sitting area to sit and have a cocktail we tried the espresso martini and the mojitos along with our delicious meal. overall a lovely place to stop and enjoy some fresh cooked food with very friendly hospitality.
We stopped at Franklin’s Brasserie looking for somewhere to have lunch and where would could also charge our car EV) and a place that would allow us to bring our dog as we were travelling home from a weekend away. The moment we pulled in to the car park we felt very welcomed the manager/owner came out to check we were able to connect and to find out what we needed in terms of table we were seated in the newly built extension with the air con on it was boiling hot outside so very appreciated). Throughout our lunch we were really well looked after, the food was delicious I had the Calamari and Roast Beef) and the service was amazing throughout if you’re in the area then I would definitely recommend a stop here we didn’t have it but the afternoon tea looked lovely as well!
Such a wonderful dining experience staff so attentive, food really superb and lovely surroundings. Cannot fault the service and welcome we received and truly some of the best dishes we have had in a long time. Starter of chorizo was a spectacle to behold! Goat curry was exceptional, stunning flavours and perfectly cooked. Lamb shank cooked so well and tasted delicious and to top it off the desserts were top dollar !
We decided to grab dinner and a drink at this restaurant and were incredibly impressed by the outstanding service, outstanding food, and delightful atmosphere. The hosts were attentive without being invasive. They even asked me how I preferred my steak done, and it was cooked perfectly. We were informed that all the food was locally sourced, which was fantastic. We also took a look around the museum and learned about the family's journey since they took over the restaurant. We would give this place a 5-star rating and will definitely be returning to try more items from the menu as it was so difficult to choose just one.
