Giampietro Pasta Pizzeria

Wow, what a great Italian food. we had the baked ziti with sausage and a calzone. the ziti is delicious and enough for two people, and the calzone is great enough to feed a group. the house red wine is also very good. there are many good burger places in breckinridge and a fair share of pizza places, but this food is one must be during their stay.

We had some friends visiting from the state, and out go-to Italian place is closed for the slurry season, so we decided to try giampietro based on the same level as our favorite stretch italian restaurant. unfortunately, eating did not live until the evaluation. a lot of people had pizza, so maybe that's good, but the pasta dishes we had were a big disappointment. it began with the filled bowls my wife ordered. they were not the huge filled dishes they would expect. they were tiny. not velveeta shells n cheese tiny, but close. the filling and the sauce were uninspiring, and it lacked taste. I had cheese manicotti, but with alfredo instead of tomato sauce, and added meatballs. the Alfredo sauce also lacked taste, and the manicotti noodles felt as if they had been made a long time ago. the meatballs were simply eggs of ground beef. no real spice or taste. our guests had the baked ziti with meatballs (same problems) and the chicken marsala. the marsala tasted more like a sweet water than a marsala wine sauce, and the whole plate, like everything else, was very difficult in taste. Moreover, the staff seemed more interested in the NBA game on television than on the work in the restaurant, but I think that is the norm owner expecting us to accept these days. all in all, giampietro was an extremely disappointing experience. I hope the pizza is good, but we will never be there again. if michaels (our favourite place) is not open, we will get for another type of food. giampietro is not worth taking the chance on itself. for a meal that ordered at almost $150 without alcohol, I have now buyer remorse.

When my colleagues first heard that I went to the breckenridge, everyone said I should come over here. I understand why! atmosphere is great, personal super friendly, and eating was so good! we came into the city extremely exhausted so that an Italian beer, wein, custom pizza and calzone hit the place!

What can I say, Taste like Home.. as in NY!!. Definitely great Pizza... And service is fast.. may be the slow season but its exceptional. Ben at the Bar took great care of us and never stopped moving.. owners are friendly, and Chefs are Amazing. Thanks for a great meal and awesome desert.

This has always been our favorite restaurant….for years! We have brought all our out of state visitors here our sons and their families recommend it to everyone we know when they visit Breckenridge. Today we came to Breckenridge with our son and family that are visiting from overseas. All we talked about was enjoying a dinner there together. I opened the website so we could make our dinner selections. I called and the message I received said they were overwhelmed with delivery orders so would not be taking more over the phone. So my husband and I drove down figured we’d enjoy a drink at the bar while we ordered our dinners to take back to our condo. Parked, walked to the front door and IT WAS CLOSED! No notice on their website or phone messages. Witnessed at last six other people standing outside the door, on their phone, trying to figure out what was going on. Love your food. Love your service. So So So disappointed you couldn’t update your website stating you were closed or put a message on your answering machine stating you were closed. We will return but it will take a while to get this ‘bad taste’ out of our mouths.
