Bidrage med feedbackA lovely outing for my wife and I along the Grand River on a Lunch cruise. First let me say we had a truly lovely time. Well organized, great staff, excellent entertainment a full A1 experience. only one drawback and I really hate to bring it up at all but I am going to anyway. Lunch is advertised as a ROAST BEEF dinner and it is no question it is roast beef and it was very good.BUT about the roast beef, if you think you are going to receive a good slice of roast beef as you would from a restaurant or even at home , you will be disappointed. What it is, is thinly sliced almost deli style overcooked, but tasteful roast beef. To call it Roast Beef is a bit of a misnomer. Was it good, yes/OK but not what you are thinking as you prepare for lunch. Great pie to finish, had a beer on board truly a great afternoon. Still go for sure but be ready for a good quality lunch but 1/8 inch sliced beef. The Blazing Saddles for pre-board entertainment FANTASTIC !! It was well worth the drive from Kitchener, good times.
Not what we expected..meal was so sohad better dinnersno comentary hardly at all shortly after bording we started getting sleepy or bored..no
For $18 I thought it was money well spent. The afternoon nature cruise lasts an hour and a quarter from dock to dock. The captain has some very interesting facts and information. However, I would have preferred to hear more from him instead of Beatles blaring over the speakers spaced every 10 or 12 feet. How about no "music" so we can enjoy the sound of waves lapping at the side of the boat ?The film shown prior is somewhat informative if a little outdated (Nanticoke closed several years ago and Mennonites, although some orders still use horse & buggy; they do use technology such as computers and cell phones)Snacks & drinks for sale during the cruise but I do not see why people need to eat and drink on a short jaunt. Empty plastic cups and other garbage were flying overboard some I was lucky enough to retrieve. Plenty of parking, large washrooms in the check-in building. Bring your own drinking water though, the water from the taps is dodgy.I would recommend this afternoon cruise, especially on a hot day.
We took a Friday afternoon luncheon cruise on the Beautiful Grand River. This adventure is excellent and well planned. When we arrived we were ushered into the auditorium for coffee and pastries and a short film about the river. Then we were entertained by the Blazing Fiddles..an excellent four member musical group that garnered a standing ovation! The cruise was very relaxing watching the homes along the river and the boaters. It is very wide. Our meal was tender roast beef, mashed potatoes, gravy, mixed veggies, homemade bread and drinks, followed by delicious apple pie. No complaints there!!!The actual cruise takes three hours and we lucked out on a sunny day. This activity is geared to seniors. Not much to interest children. Washrooms on board as well. Very safe activity and capable staff. Highly recommended for the retired set and more fun in a group.
Enjoyed a muffin and conversation till music began around 5:45. Great half-hour of live fiddling music to tap your feet to and clap your hands to.2.5 hour pleasant boat tour along a peaceful river. Captain provided calm and informative information and respectful content about the First Nations people.Roast beef dinner aboard was great. Service was pleasant. Coffee at the beginning could be of a higher quality and hotter temperature.
