Albert's Bistro - Brandon

The food was typical Greek fare. We both had souvlaki and overall it was good. (The garden salad was underwhelming) Good sized portions. Service was excellent/friendly, helpful. The restaurant itself comes across as worn and tired. Exterior and interior. However it was genuine Greek decor as you might expect inside. We went during the dinner hour on a Sunday evening on a long weekend and it was a busy place frequented by many regulars which speaks of both the atmosphere and the food. Nevertheless my wife and I both thought it was somewhat pricey. And there was a genuine fly in the ointment as a fly continued to fly around our food throughout our meal, landing at times which was somewhat distracting.

Wife and I go here, and only here for Date Night ! Food is outstanding, though admittedly a bit pricy. We have had nearly everything on their menu, but my go to is the Rack of Lamb. Always perfect! They have IMHO the best Prime Rib in Manitoba! Get a reservation, as this is a smaller restaurant than you are probably used to, and is always packed. Service is ok. Usually friendly and attentive.

The prime rib is worth the visit. The princess cut was huge for the price and some best I've had. I didn't realize it came covered in gravy/Au jus, which I would get on the side the next time. Enjoyed the apple pie for dessert. The restaurant itself could definitely use a little updating.

This is the place to have the best prime rib in Brandon. It's been Albert specialty for decades and it certainly shows. Seating is limited so reservations are always recommended otherwise you may have to wait for a seat. This has a cult following in the area just because of the quality of the food. This is my favorite place to go when I want quality food and I have never been disappointed.
