Bidrage med feedbackBeautiful patio. End of the good news. Daughter ordered the eggplant parm which they were out of at 7:30, which sounded like a good sign. I was wrong. Daughter had the margarita flatbread which was basically President's Choice flatbread that you can't cut with a knife and fork, an anemic tomato and something that resembled buffalo mozzarella. I had the Tex Amex salad. It was some greens with a bottled corn salsa spread along it, seriously????! Most disappointing. Worst was it was an hour wait for our food, even with a reservation. Go for a glass of wine then bail and eat elsewhere
My wife and I had a wonderful meal tonight at Carve at Lot 5 in downtown Brampton. This was our first time to enjoy this independent gem located right at the four corners in Brampton. They had opened the front windows so we could enjoy the beautiful warm breeze coming in on this humid evening. The dining room was fairly full and we would have liked to try the rooftop deck but it looked like it might rain. As for the food we were really impressed by the value for money shown throughout the varied menu which features many organic and Vegan options. The portions were ample and the flavours were all amazing. My Pork Tenderloin was delicious cooked perfectly and tender of course. The vegetables were cooked nicely but my shoestring Parmesan fries were a bit under done, but the minute I mentioned it to our server they were replaced right away. My wife really enjoyed her Beef Dip, she said it was very flavourful and really tender. Overall a great experience an inviting ambience with everyone having a great time. We will definitely be retuning.
My husband and I went to dinner prior to a concert at the Rose Theatre. The restaurant is right across the street. Is was Saturday evening around 6:15. There were seats available. We didn't have a reservation. The waitress was extremely friendly and helpful. We shared a charcuterie platter that was wild game sausage, various cheeses, olives, nuts and seeds in tiny portions. As an appetizer is was okay for two. The meats were not as expected. It would have been nice to know which meat slice was which as they looked and tasted very similar. I had the Caesar with some grilled shrimp. My husband had the berry salad with goat cheese and salmon. The Caesar was tasty but average. There was no Parmesan on it and none was offered. There were bits of chopped up bacon. The shrimp had a nice flavour but were quite small. I had a taste of the wild caught salmon. It was well prepared. We shared 1/2 L of Shiraz and finished with coffee. Total with tip was just under $120. The service was good. The food was average. We will come back to try the carved meats, which is what they are known for, hopefully on the rooftop patio.
I really wanted to like this new restaurant. Yes, limited menu. Found it a little pricey, we went for lunch. We ordered potatoe skins. Had to ask for sour cream and it was served in a tiny Chinese style spoon. I asked for more and received another tiny spoon. I stated we would certainly need more and it was not received well.We ordered the prime rib. Yikes, the only flavour was rosemary. The Yorkshire pudding was drowned in gravy which totally ruined it. Gravy wasn't great or it would have been easier to enjoy the mush. Neither of us ate even a 1/4 of the meal. The manager asked if we liked our meal. When we said no not at all, she said |" Well everybody does". What do you say to that response!! I wish them well.
Like the décor and character of the restaurant. We ate lunch downstairs, so I haven't seen the second floor eating area or the roof top but am looking forward to going back in the summer months to experience this. The service was friendly and the food very good, we will definitely be returning to this restaurant.
