Bidrage med feedbackWe stumbled across Cafeteria Trem quite randomly after arriving to Braga by train (the café is just 5 minutes from the station). The place seems unassuming so we didn’t really think much of it at first. We ordered two cappuccinos from a friendly woman behind the counter and as we waited we began to notice time seemed to be moving unusually slow inside Cafeteria Trem. We watched as the woman took her time carefully preparing our coffee perhaps a ritual mastered after many years of experience. I remember even the sound of the milk steaming seemed extraordinarily long. While we waited an older man came in for his newspapers, perhaps a regular, and another woman slowly shuffled through the place like she was looking for something. To complicate matters we asked for our coffee to-go, an obvious rarity in Braga as this required brushing off dust from the to-go cups from a distant top shelf. Eventually we paid, took our coffee and walked to a small park area across the street as there was an old stone bench. So we both agreed something remarkable happened in that place and the making of this slow brew. Perhaps the perfect crema takes time as our cappuccinos were amongst the finest we experienced on our trip to Portugal. Obrigado Cafeteria Trem!
