Bidrage med feedbackGrabbed a box of butter tarts at Steveston Marina in Richmond on Sunday no nuts no raisins all 'original '....tasted exactly like my mother used to make. And THAT is perfect. Now I have to track you down to re supply!
While they have a brick and mortars store in Squamish, Golden Crust are regulars at Farmer’s Markets were they sell their infamous “Sea to Sky delicious” pocket pies. Seeing how tasty they looked, our friends purchased a few for everyone to try including apricot, strawberry rhubarb and blueberry apple.
We were out at the Steveston Farmers Market in July with Sophie and came across this little tent serving up Pocket Pies. Golden Crust is located up in Squamish but it’s easier to find them at a local farmers market .
Can’t single out one product THEY ARE All FANTASTIC !! ????
First time trying the pocket pies from the Farmers market. What is a pocket pie? Think of a strudel that is wrapped up like an envelope with lovely pie stuffing inside. The crust is on the drier side than a all butter crust that is flaky. The filling is about 50% cornstarch slurry filling than the fruit itself. Would have loved to see more fruit! More than 10+ varieties to chose from at $4/ea. If you see it on your way, would recommend if you haven’t tried it before, but it’s not mind blowing good that you need to go out of your way for it.
