À la Route d'Argent - Bozouls

We had the opportunity with my family to have dinner in this charming village of Bozouls, and we headed to La Route d’Argent because few restaurant were opened in the neighborhood. Food was good with local products and and perfect cooking (foie gras, veal, local fish) BUT service was awful: we waited a long time for our different courses and without any assistance from the staff. Only one young waitress was ensuring all the service for the entire restaurant while her colleagues were talking to local customers, instead of taking care of the tables. Our dinner lasted at least 2:30 hours! Staff was not particularly friendly and with a visible lack of professionalism: dirty cutlery, no bottle presentation when we chose glasses of wine, some food felt on the floor while the waiter was serving us and the diner room was terribly noisy. To sum it up: good food but diner ruined by room and staff. As I regard good food as a prerequisite in any decent restaurant, I do not recommend this address.

At La Route d'Argent, the former met our expectations; the latter wasn't quite up to snuff. The food was lovely in quality, preparation, and presentation. We have no criticism in that area. However, the latter needs improvement. Although all servers were pleasant and possessed good etiquette, they rarely were able to serve everyone at the same table at the same time, hence the people who received their plate first had to wait several minutes until the other people with them were served. It may have been due to a problem in the kitchen. Whatever the reason, it should be resolved as soon as possible. I would still sincerely recommend this restaurant. As mentioned in my title, quality/price SUPER!

My wife and I had the "Menu du Moment" (at 19 euros 50) and we were both delighted. As other reviewers have pointed out, the building itself and the dining room cannot be described as "charmant", but my wife immediately pointed out the high quality of the tableware - glasses, cutlery, linen etc. The service was impeccable, professional, friendly and unobtrusive. My wife had the moules marinières (which were rock mussels, not farmed ones) - the best she has ever had. My starter was the salade aveyronaise - perfectly balanced, very tasty. We both had the superbly cooked (and presented!) navarin of lamb with the local speciality, aligot (creamed potatoes with fresh tôme d'Aubrac cheese incorporated - beautiful), and sorbets maison to finish. We have stayed a number of times in this area before, and have often driven past this this restaurant without paying much attention. We had tried earlier to eat in another restaurant in Bozouls (which serves a 26 euros menu but doesn't bother to tell you outside the restaurant what is on the menu - and the reception there was rather boorish). So we considered it a great stroke of fortune to find La Route d'Argent,which is the best menu we have ever tried in the whole area between Rodez - Espalion - St Geniez d'Olt. Highly, highly recommended for the quality of the food and the attention of the staff

This restaurant was recommended by our hotel and we were not disappointed.We were four and all enjoyed our meal, 3 taking the lower price menu and 1 the higher price. We all thought good value.The dining room itself lacks ambience and we thought on arrival ,rather uninviting. However the staff soon changed our mind, all very charming and helped make our evening special.
