This a gem of a building just waiting to be renovated. Jo, our guide, was excellent. Passionate about the building and the people who have passed through its doors, she gave us a fantastic tour. Many thanks and good luck with the project. We'll be back.
We parked as close to the centre of Boston as we could which just happened to be almost opposite Shodfriars Hall and noticed the Coffee Shop on the corner. It was a welcome sight after a long drive. The Coffee Shop is lovely with fine china and lots of home baked cakes, savouries, jacket potatoes, paninis ice-creams. This building also the Information Centre, so you can check out all the local places of interest within the same building. This is one of Boston's Cultural Centre projects to restore the Hall to its former glory. We really enjoyed our visit to this welcoming and excellent Coffee Shop and highly recommend it to anyone visiting Boston.
Intriguing place a short walk from the market but worlds away in quality. Ordered coffee and cakes. Americano cups could have been the next size up, as in other cafes in town. The whole selection of cakes looked lovely, and the ones we had were very tasty, coffee was a fine blend of Stokes of Lincoln. The after thought of an ice-cream was the star of the show. Stop them and buy one!
I visited Shodfriars Hall today for a tour led by Jo, an incredibly enthusiastic guide. Learning about the history of the building and plans for restoration was fantastic. The building exudes a remarkable atmosphere, sparking imagination with its past scenes and future potential. I truly hope funding for the restoration is successful so that locals and visitors to Boston can once again enjoy this marvelous building, filling it with joy and music. The Coffee Shop, visited after the tour, was a delightful surprise with its delicious coffee and tempting cakes. I highly recommend a visit to anyone in the area. Supporting the Coffee Shop also supports the entire project, so don't hesitate to show your support!
We discovered this charming cafe a few months ago and absolutely love it. This week, we had the opportunity to take a complimentary tour of Shodfriars Hall, located above the cafe. It was a delightful surprise to learn that it is one of the oldest buildings in Boston, although it is in need of restoration. The organization has a plan in place but requires support from the community. The building is worth a visit, so why not grab a coffee or lunch while you're there? If you haven't already visited, you'll be pleasantly surprised. The tour guide was inspiring and friendly, creating a relaxed atmosphere. The prices are reasonable, and the food, drinks, and service are all excellent.
