Surrey Hills Fish Chips & Grill

Visited after reading other reviews whilst staying a short distance away. Blackburn.Shop is spotless and staff customer focused. Order was taken quickly and food freshly prepared. Fish was fresh and lightly battered. We also had potato cakes which were good. One of the staff gave us a starter of Dim Sum. Nice gesture.Spot on from a visitor from the la d of fish and chips.

Came across Surrey Hills Fish Chips and Grill, on our return from a day out and feeling ravenous decided to sample "Aussie fish and chips", from this very striking looking establishment. When we walked in you could see that it was spotless and very tidy, a big plus! The two owners Victor and Tom were very friendly and efficient with our order, so we decided to eat our meal at one of the outside tables. Absolutely scrummy- we ordered fish, potato cakes, calamari ring, scallops and a delicious Greek salad! All was fresh, tasty and best of all not greasy!! They have an extensive menu, and I would rate it as one of the BEST Fish & Chip shops I have eaten at. I travel home every 2 years and when I return in 2019, I will definitely visit again. Go and say hi to Tom and Vic - friendly and funny blokes that will tell you a good story about their retirement dreams while you wait. We had a 3 hour drive ahead of us so they packed our food carefully after showing us how perfectly they cook their calamari and prawns: did I say perfectly? That's it! We will definitely be back - we just wish it could be sooner than later.
