Macedon Fish Bowl - Boroondara

I regularly order one of the lunch packs, which consists of chips with fish, that can either be fried or grilled. The quality is consistent, with both the chips and fish having a crispy coating. The one flaw I can think of, is that the price can be a bit higher than some other places, however, this isn't much of a flaw, given the consistently good quality of the fish and chips.

Favourite local fish and chip shop. Clean shop with consistently good food. Only negative is that it closes early and doesn't take EFTPOS.

This restaurant is really good. I stopped in for a quick bite and was very impressed. The gummy shark was fresh, which is a huge improvement over the thawed, texture-less budget flake you find at most places. The batter was a perfect golden color, very crispy but not overly hard or chewy. The chips also had a perfect golden color and crispiness, cooked just right. The restaurant was very clean and I could tell by the smell inside and the quality of the food that they used clean frying oil.

I had a great lunch at this fish and chips shop. It is very clean and the seafood is fresh and crispy. I visited on June 9, 2013 and found that they serve the best fish and chips. The fresh fish and crunchy batter were delicious.

I am a big fan of fish and chips and have visited numerous fish and chip shops in the Eastern suburbs. This place is definitely the top choice for me. The quality of the fish, the generous portion size, and the type of fish used are all outstanding. The batter is just right, not too heavy. I highly recommend this place!
